Washing machine - dos and don'ts
I have the old white version of this radio. I have had it for about 15 years. Then this week I accidentally put it in the washing machine with my duvet cover. It bumped around for about 6-7 minutes until I realised what had happened. I cancelled the wash and rescued this much loved little radio. I replaced the battery (also rescued from the washing machine) and unsurprisingly it wouldn't turn on. After a couple of hours and without doing anything else to it, I pressed the little on button again, not expecting it to work, but with a nostalgic sadness. Guess what! It had completely recovered, it still works perfectly, I only had to reset the pre-set channels. Is this the best radio ever made? Probably best not to test this out again though.

My favourite radio by far
One of the most crucial items in my life. I use them in bed and at football matches. The presets are invaluable and superior to any digital radio as you don't have to look at the radio to set the right frequency, which is especially helpful if you wake in the night or early in the morning, you don't have to look at a clock, you just follow the headphone wire to the radio and turn it on. I'm on about my sixth or seventh radio, about which I guess you could say that they are (1) good enough to buy again and again and (2) especially initially, say ten years ago, could have had a better build quality. But no complaints!

Sports 995 personnel radio
It only works with ear phones! I guess I didnt read between the lines and I find the ear phones won’t stay in my ears, but having said that it’s a perfect little radio light with great sound easy to use.

Good radio
This is a great little radio. The only downside is because it has the clock on all the time it eats through the batteries ! Why do you need the time on the radio ? I have decided to remove the batteries when I am not using it. A bit of a nuisance to re tune each time but better than keep recharging batteries.

Great little radio
Bought this for my blind husband for Xmas to replace his old one. Very easy to set up and use and great sound makes it excellent value for money and hopefully will last as long as his old one!

A Graden Joy
My good friend, a talented flower and tree maintainer, who has helped me for many years to keep my over grown garden from disintegrating into a heap of rubble, spoke about his inability to keep himself amused and entertained as he drove his tractor from job to job in the countryside. I bought him a wee Roberts Digital radio from Harvey Normans which he could use plugged into his left ear in order to keep his right ear open to traffic. He came back the next day, full of joy, to tell me he found and listened to a station he much loved at home as he trundled along from job to job through the rural roads of north Wexford.
Can I say, Harvey Norman , thank you for helping to fulfil my fiend’s empty gaps between his challenging long drives from job to job. I don’t think he will ever leave go his new found joy.
