A brilliant machine
This is an incredible piece of kit. The mapping technology accurately put together a floor plan for each level of our house. It immediately got to work and methodically hoovered every section of each room. It even managed to get underneath all of our sofas and automatically turned on its light when it sensed lower light levels.
The only reason I have dropped a star is due to some technical glitches. On a few occasions it wondered around in circles trying to find its dock or trying to locate a new zone. It was rather simple to fix by turning it off and restarting back at its dock. Had I not been there , I’m not sure how long this would’ve continued as I let it “look” for about 40 minutes before intervening.
I am hopeful this could be fixable by Dyson since they offer software updates.
The level of hoovering is excellent, I was very surprised at its power for such a small machine. It was able to notify me via the app when the bin needed emptying and the filter needed cleaning.
Like I said, a seriously impressive bit of kit.

Not only for nurds ...
Being technical I had this robot (renamed Jeeves) up and running inside 30 minutes once charged. Some one-off jobs: link via Bluetooth, give Jeeves WiFi access, download Dynson app, link up with Alexa, plug in the docking station and press Auto for the first clean.
Not actually rocket science... although I suppose it is! 😁
Jeeves did a 40 minute clean navigating around the room and the furniture. Never got stuck since Jeeves' camera and sensors allow very accurate positioning, reversals and repositioning.
We're fully tiled downstairs. Have now programmed Jeeves to do a 40 minute clean while we're out at work. Very simple app.
Not big. Not noisy. But the dog did bark when confronted. But the dog barks at the hand held Dyson too!

Wow!!! Where to start?
My dyson 360 Vis Nav arrived on Thursday and is a very welcome addition to our dyson family. We have recently moved house and have not quite adjusted to the bigger floor space and additional vaccuming required throughout the work to keep on top of the house but I think life is about to get much easier.
Firstly we mapped the floor space and we have now set up zones. Everyday at 10am the robot vac is set to vac the dining and kitchen area which is great as it seems my son is unable to eat breakfast without half of it ending up on the floor. We've also used it ad hoc so when we went out last night we set the dyson off and all of the downstairs was vacuumed whilst we were out.
The vac lives in the corner nicely out of the way and comes out either when scheduled or when we use the app to request it. It even has an edging tool that pops out so it can clean right up to the skirting board.
I am extremely happy with my new robot dyson the 360 Vis Nav.

Intelligent Little Machine
I purchased this machine a week ago, and I have to say it’s absolutely amazing! I’m particularly impressed by its suction power, ability in edges, and it’s dust mapping features within the app. The build quality is very good and the product itself is aesthetically pleasing - as you would expect with dyson! I have tiled and carpeted flooring, as well as different floor levels. The robot intelligently mapped my floor and moves around effortlessly across both types of flooring and levels. The brush bar attachment is fantastic as is the filtering system. I saw this product more of an investment rather than a purchase and it’s made daily chores more enjoyable - mainly because it enables me to do other tasks and activities whilst it cleans!

Exceeded my Expectations
Setting up the 360 Vis Nav was very straightforward once I'd added it to the My Dyson app. The product itself is very neat and stylish. One of the things I love about Dyson is their consistency, when I see something red on the machine then I know it means press it for an action, so on this machine the red button on the top releases the canister from the machine, and the red slide on the canister releases the dust. Emptying the canister is easy and the mechanism is really smooth.
I used the app to set the first clean which was the hallway which is carpeted and doesn't have any obstacles to navigate. I wasn't expecting the suction to be as good as it is and felt that the carpet got a good clean. It found the dock without any issues after it had finished the clean. I was surprised at the amount of dust in the canister as I'd vacuumed the previous day. I had the machine on auto and as it went along I could hear the increase in power when it detected it needed that extra suction. .
Next I decided to try it in the living room which has more obstacles, coffee table, dogs bed, sofas, floor lamp and my Dyson Purifier. This time I just picked it up and placed it in the middle of the floor and pressed the central button on the machine and off it went. I noticed when it reaches a dark area the led lights come on. I am very happy with the level of clean it has done and for also getting to the edges. It navigated all the obstacles with ease. I am going to let it map out the whole place so that I can select zones to be cleaned each day, then all I will have to do is empty the canister and decide what to do with my free time!

Well designed high end machine
I received a vacuum from Dyson for free to facilitate this review.
All the features of this vaccuum are at the high end, as should be expected from a company like Dyson.
Out of the box, the product feels high quality. It is heavy, which shouldn’t be a surprise given the number of motors and battery inside. This shouldn't be an issue unless you are moving it between floors. The parts and components feel high quality and solid.
The device arrived with a reasonable charge on it so it didn't take long to reach full charge. I ran it in the downstairs area which has a hall, kitchen and living room. There is a mix of hard floors and rugs for the vac to deal with, which it managed well without issue. It ran for about 55 minutes on its full charge. I thought this was short, but noted that the "boost" mode came on frequently. This is a feature that detects higher levels of dust in localised areas, so ramps up the power to deal with the extra dirt it finds. You can view in the app where in your house it identifies these higher concentrations of dust. These lined up well with areas such as the front door, back door and paths of high traffic. On the next run the vacuum made, these areas were less brightly coloured in the app, indicating it seemed to have dealt with the hotspots quite well. In addition, the next run went a little longer, 1hr 15, indicating it used the boost mode less. I really like this aspect of the operation as it indicates the vacuum is working smart and targeting the hotspots effectively. I think this works fine for my house (25sqm footprint - calculated by the robovac!), but it may struggle to clean everywhere on one charge for a larger house. That said, I have been surprised by how quickly it charges after a clean. I
In terms of the clean, the hardwood floors looked great. Running a finger over the surface, I couldn't feel any dust or mess in the areas it visited. The rugs looked good too, with visible agitation of the fibres of my short pile rug. It spent more time in the high traffic areas which is good.
In terms of the way it moves around, the vacuum AI seems to be far smarter than my other (much lower end) robot vacuum. It is more ponderous in its movements, with less bumping in to stuff and careful consideration before it strikes off in a direction. The result seems to be a sensible path that covers ground in an efficient way. It is surprising how it works, with frequent stops in the middle of a journey, but it's not an issue just a quirk.
With regard to barriers, the vacuum is able to transition between rooms with threshold differences very easily. The difference between hall and living room is around 20mm and is hurdles that with no issue. Compared to my other vac, this is a huge improvement as around half the attempts the old vac made at this threshold resulted in being turned back into the room.
You use the MyDyson app to manage the schedule and control of the vac. This is great, as it allows you to manage your Dyson devices together in one place. One of the big benefits of robovacs over manual is the frequecy they can be run, without supervision. I have scheduled mine to run everyday before we wake up. This is great as you come down to nice clean floors without expending any brainpower.
The vac also has a feature in the app where you can map your house, then split the house into different zones. You can specify cleans for specific zones, which is neat. The UX of this feature is surprisingly crisp. It took me only a few moments to split the house into different zones and label the rooms. Not sure how actively I will use this feature, but I can see the value when you have something going on in a room and don't want to erect physical barriers to do vacuuming.
One great feature unique to this vac is the little red silicon side bar that automatically comes out when the Dyson encounters a wall/vertcal surface. This works really well in ensuring the dirt is directed to the roller brush.
On the topic of the roller brush, it seems to do a good job of not getting bound up with hair, unlike my other robovac. The hair ends up in the bin, so I don't see myself having to free the brush from hair with every use, which is one of my least fave jobs in the house. The brush spans the whole width of the body of the machine, which is great. I really like the design of the brush too, it is multi surfaced to deal with the different surfaces it cleans.
The bin is really well designed. It is quite large, so I can run the vac a few times before needing to empty it. I suspect the vac will tell me when full, but I haven't filled it yet on 3 runs. The bin is really easy to access. No flipping the vac, just a red button on top releases then another button to eject the waste. The bottom opens out downwards, which took me surprise the first time, but this feature means the waste gets pushed out with some force which means no banging or shaking.
In terms of the appearance, the signature Dyson purple is certainly distinctive. It looks quite futuristic, but not terribly aesthetic. The appearance is not helped by the white and black circles on the plate at the back of the dock. Its surprising that this couldn't be designed around, as it is not the nicest looking thing. If you spend in this range, I would expect a device that I wouldn't mind having on show. Not an issue if you can hide the dock away under a unit or a couch, which is what I'll be doing.
Overall, this is a great vac that works well. The navigation is a little odd and the battery life might be an issue if the boost mode is activated a lot, but it cleans really well. This coupled with the 5 year guarantee makes this a very valuable machine that does its job well and should do so over its life.

Great addition to a busy family home
We don’t live in a perfect show home often used in promotional videos. It’s a typical busy (sometimes chaotic!) family home, so I was fascinated to see if the Vis Nav could cope. In short, it’s more than capable, easy to use and allows us to complete cleaning whilst being away from the home. A great new Dyson product. Now a little more detail :
Setup : Visual instructions are straightforward. You do need to link to the app but this was easy to follow at every step.
Prep: it does require some basic prep to get the best out of Vis Nav, by clearing the floor of obstacles, nothing out of the ordinary and what you would expect to do when cleaning.
Mapping : The first task was for the Vis Nav to map the rooms, this is where you first see development effort that has gone into the product. It navigates with exceptional accuracy and provided a very good image of the floor plan. From this, 5 mins work in the app and the plan is complete. This is vital to enable flexibility in the cleaning allow you to select any number of rooms to clean.
Cleaning : The quality of the clean is as good as the v15 and what you would expect from a Dyson product. It is able to clean most edges and corners very well although cannot reach the edges in every scenario, such as under a radiator that is low to the floor.
Overall : Does it eliminate the need for any manually cleaning, no, but the increased flexibility to complete cleaning remotely far outweighs this.
