R/hobbs matt & gloss kettle.
Just bought, so still early (4) days, but I have to say, I do like this kettle. I've tried to dislike it as its plastic, & prefer a nice glass or stainless steel look, but living in a hard water area, glass literally needs cleaning alternative days, & stainless steel, I've found am limited to choice. Thus far, no descaling required. Tick. Perfect for left handers due to dual visual water level displays. Tick. Fits nicely in said left hand, as its quite a chunky handle. Tick. Light weight - even when full, easy to fill, due to a decent sized top. Its a nice solid kettle, with a quick & quiet boil. Does exactly, for me what it claims to. Cheers, well happy, so far.

Danger of fire. Should be recalled.
I hate this kettle, it is almost impossible to pour without the water running back down the body of the kettle and over your work top or scalding your feet. Spouts have been made for thousands of years, but this ignores all that learning and fails its most basic function. This is not why I have come here to review it today though; I have been cleaning my kitchen and removed the kettle plug from the socket to wipe a food splash on the nearby tiles and discovered a burn mark on the socket that corresponds with the hole on the plug where you insert a screwdriver to get to the fuse. On removing the fuse cover, the inside of the plug has melted too. A thermal imaging camera shows the cable to the kettle getting very hot (you can feel it too). How long before this causes a fire? Other reviewers elsewhere have had the same experience. This kettle should be recalled.

Can't be at Russell Hobbs
I am thrilled with my Russell Hobbs kettle. It is certainly living up to my expectations. I also purchased a Russell Hobbs toaster and am very pleased with that too. I always find Russell Hobbs to be the best. I've had different makes over they years, but I am only ever happy with Russell Hobbs, so will always stick with that brand from now on

Leaking Kettle
I have take a while to review this item as it appears to me at times that the kettle is leaking. At times there are droplets of water underneath the base. Also when I move the kettle a dribble of water falls on the work top from the base. I can't figure out where exactly it is coming from. Otherwise I love the kettle

Horrible taste
I bought this less than a week ago and initially I was very pleased with it. But for the last 24 hrs the taste of the water is really not nice at all.
I did everything prior to use - 2 full boils - and all was well, then yesterday it all changed and every cup of tea since has been horrible.

Nice and simple
Bought this 2days ago from local company as I wanted nice simple plastic kettle where the lid didn't flip open when boiling, I do like kettle but its noisier than expected which I can put up with and kettle wobbles while its boiling.

Good kettle
An excellent kettle. Its best feature is that it boils VERY quickly. It also allows you to boil just enough for one mug of coffee so no energy is wasted. I also like the traditional appearance of this kettle.
