Brilliant decision.
I have to admit that I am a bit of a camera junkie. I have had the full frame Nikon system with so many lenses, the Fuji mirrorless, the Sony Rd 100, the Leica Q (which I have kept) and now this. Because I am having to build up my lens collection slowly to save my marriage I only have the 24 - 105 and the 55m. However, I am absolutely delighted. The eye focus is incredible and that for me makes the decision to switch worthwhile. I love the sharpness and the ability to focus on fast moving objects. Occasionally, in bright sunlight it takes a while to focus but, other than this it is my dream camera. I only wish the lenses weren’t so expensive.

Comes with obsolete software
Just started using it as a novice, but frustratingly it comes with obsolete software (as the old software has been replaced by Imaging Edge, but the camera itself keeps referring to the old software). For the price, I would have expected the camera to be kept up-to-date with the required firmware updates from the manufacturer and not expect the user to have to painfully work it out themselves by visiting multiple tutorials. Once the new software is installed on the phone, the connection is unreliable which is disappointing (as this is one of the main reasons for buying the camera....it's apparent ability to connect wirelessly with the phone to transfer photos, etc).

Fabulous Images
I have had this camera a few weeks now, so just getting used to the controls. The only criticism is the menu - its a nightmare, that being said I have now got the custom menu set up the way I want it and that works for me.
The quality of the images is amazing, focusing is sharp and most of the time rapid. the auto eye focus works really well on people and animals. Really good low light performance and the built in image stabilisation a real bonus.
I work predominately in still images and can't comment on the capability of the video other than to say it looks good to me.

A slightly Flawed Titan.
Anybody seriously thinking of buying this camera be prepared for a bit of a steep and arduous learning curve. I purchased the first incarnation of this camera (A7) and quickly gave up on it. With the release of the A7III I decided to sell my existing mirrorless camera and lenses and give Sony another go.
It's been a little bit of an uphill battle....BUT the end results are really worthwhile.
Get to really learn the camera and it's abilities and it will repay with amazing good, and consistent, results.
I'm Really glad that I stuck with it! Amazing Value for money!

Excellent, Do it all in one Camera
I have owned this camera for nearly 2 years now and I have found it to perform excellently both for still photography and video. I primarily use it for wildlife photography and usually have it paired with the Sony FE 200-600mm f5.6-6.3 G OSS Lens which offers excellent results. The autofocus is fast and reliable with excellent low-light performance. I would highly recommend this system for multiple uses.

Amazing camera.
I used to be a Canon user for 15 years. I was waiting a whole year, reading every day a lot of comments and rewievs online.
In October 2019 I decided to switch to Sony eventually and BOOM ! I am so happy with the camera. So many great features, excellent AF and manual focus system picking, wow ! Sharpness of images .
Hi ISO quality much better than
in Canon and many more. Great colours and final jpg straight from the camera is brilliant. Native lenses are extremely fast and tack sharp.
I am really impressed.

Amazing quality
Had my Sony A7iii for about three weeks now and I bought this to replace my old camera and what a camera this is. The colour range is fantastic, it’s light and does everything Sony says it’s does. I bought the kit with the 28-70 and a separate 50mm f1.8, nifty fifty. So far I am really really pleased with my purchase. When money allows I will get their 28-70 f2.8 lens as well.
