Not suitable for live streaming
I am thoroughly disappointed that a "vlog" camera can't live stream. If you only plan to use it to record off-line, it's fine. But if you thought it'd be a webcam — forget it.
The HDMI output on ZV-1 maxes out at 1080@30Hz and has 150ms of latency. Just getting video out from the camera to any other device has a worse lag than an inter-continental video call.
It looks very choppy. I'm not sure if it's even reaching th 30fps it's declaring. It look more like 24fps. It's that bad regardless of what video recording resolution or framerate is set.
Video output over Wi-Fi is even lower quality and about 10fps.

Brilliant Vlogging Camera!
I’ve had many compact cameras, with a main purpose of using for my Vlogging Channel, but the Sony ZV-1 surpasses them all! The autofocussing is superb and amazingly quick. The battery life could do with some improvement, but I have 3 in total, so its not a problem. Its excellent in low light, another thing us vloggers need from our cameras. The wind filter or ‘Dead Kitten’ with the Active SteadyShot will be very handy when we can start walking again. 4K video makes it easy to zoom in during editing if necessary.

Good results in the right situation
I wanted a camera with which to record songs outdoors and the ZV-1 sounded ideal. However, if the subject is moving at the start of a video recording, there is often a jerkiness to the image. I can only see if this has happened at the end of a recording - by which time I have spent sometimes seven minutes performing and may not feel able to use the recording.
Also, although the lens gives a sharp photograph, the zoom - which is limited in range - gives a blurred image. Effectively, I cannot use the zoom feature with this camera.
Another idiosyncrasy of the ZV-1 is that it does not handle extremes of contrast between dark and light areas of a picture very well. Lighter areas are sometimes completely white.

Great little camera
First this camera is small enough to fit into a coat pocket or an handbag, If you take a little time going throudh the menu system you will soon realize that it is quite easy to understand, the camera takes great pictures, the auto focus tracking focus and touch focus rarely let you down. You can shoot in fully auto mode for that quick moment resulting in decent pictures or if you have the time you can set the camera via mode button and slect manual and get the desired frane you want. The camera has different picture profiles you can choose and the buttons on the camera are well placed. if I had one small quibble it would be no view finder. The video options on the camera are vast, im only just starting to get into video. vlogging etc so I will have to update on that in the future. all in all a great little camera

Returned in less than a week
I bought this to vlog from home, but the colours are dull and the footage is grainy even in a controlled environment.
Microphone: The in-built mic so worse than that of an iphone 12.
Battery life: Fully charged, the battery dies after 15 minutes of filming without fail.
Footage Transfer: The app to transfer files to your mac or iPhone is temperamental. It takes 1 hour to transfer a 5 minute video file, if you are lucky enough that it doesn't spontaneously cancel midway through.
Concensus: stick to your smart phone if it has a decent camera!

Great camera let down by a very poor internal mic
The ZV-1 is a great camera, but it is let down by a very poor quality internal mic. My camera developed a fault that resulted in excessive white noise being recorded. This issue could not be fixed. If the mic was functioning correctly then my only other conclusion is that the mic is not fit for purpose. Given that this is a camera designed for vlogging, the mic should be able to operate in a variety of different environments. It's not always possible/practical to use an external mic, so having a functioning internal mic is essential, especially as Sony highlight how good the internal mic is on the ZV-1.

Fantastic Compact Proffesional Camera
Had this Camera now for just over a week! Having using a DSLR camera with different lenses for quite some time, this camera really is amazing if in comparison. Why? Well the features at your finger tips can produce some really professional pictures and amazing quality videos. I don't really know where to start...The camera is so light, so easy to use, and once you get chance to try all the options, you just need to hone in on those that you feel give you the results you need. Why professional? The quality of this camera from the lens to the software, to the way it so easily fits into your hand can but only help you create some amazing shots...I definitely recommend this camera! Most of all, it far surpasses in my opinion any mobile phone in taking pictures. Why? Because it allows you to concentrate on the great creativity that is available on this great product by Sony.

Supper Vlogging kit
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Sony ZV-1 is a super vlogging camera and it a pleasure to play around with this super toy with loads of features to die for.
Sony ZV-1 incorporate a mix of superb auto focus and brilliant design like the side flipping screen, a one touch background blurring as well as face and eye tracking. However to get the best of image stabilising, it better to use the very robust and easy to handle the Sony wireless bluetooth tripod GP-VPT2BT which makes a good partnership for vloggers and youtubers.
The ZV-1 prioritises shooting selfies videos more than photography. The video record button is a large and prominently located as a photo shutter button (i can see exactly what i am shooting when i am using the camera). Another great feature is the wind shield as this help to maintain a clear voice recording.
However the ZV-1 remains the best video all-rounder in its level taking into account its lightweight, fast auto tracking which incorporate with audio input and useful flip out screen, it a superb option for Vloggers.
