Headphone (a) ’s finish is transparent, paying homage to the honest engineering approach to reveal the beauty of the technology. The internal structure of the battery and flex cables surrounding the ear cups show both the form and function of the acoustic chambers.
The transparent layered finish on the ear cup shell is achieved through a two-shot moulding process, giving the ear cup shells a high-gloss surface that adds depth and dimensionality to the design without distracting from the form.

The Roller

The Paddle
Flick from back to front to skip tracks. Flick from front to back to return to a previous track. Push and hold from back to front to fast forward, and release to go back to normal speed.
The Button

Headphone (a) comes with different noise cancellation modes. Adaptive Active Noise Cancellation comes with 3 presets (low, mid, high) that reduce noise around you. In Transparency Mode, you can choose to let some ambient sound in, keeping you connected to what’s around you. And a Hybrid ANC mode is made possible by dual feedforward and feedback mics, which work with AI technology to adapt noise cancellation in real-time based on your surroundings and the fit of your headphones. These features are easily managed in the Nothing X app and with the tactile controls on the headphones.
Immersive 3D Sound
Static Spatial Audio is a unique Nothing feature that creates a surround sound effect, making your listens immersive. Choose between Cinema Mode, which replicates the encompassing soundscape of a movie theatre, and Concert Mode, which will transport you to row A of a live performance. Each mode is fine-tuned to connect you to your content for a lifelike listening experience.
Advanced EQ
You’ll find Advanced EQ in the Nothing X app. This 8-band equaliser lets you fine-tune your sounds beyond just bass and treble adjustments. And you can explore and share EQ profiles that you create in the Nothing X EQ library too, where you’ll find profiles created by the Nothing Community, audiophiles and collaborating artists.
Bass Enhancement
The enhanced dynamic bass algorithm analyzes low-frequency signals in real time and automatically adjusts the sound profile to deliver deeper, more powerful bass. Weighing in at 310g, Headphone (a)’s body is inspired by Headphone, but comes in lighter. The headband is flexible and durable, with sliding arms reinforced by glass fibre-filled nylon, keeping it strong without adding weight. A flexible steel arm and hinges made with Metal Injection Molding give Headphone (a) extra rigidity and durability. And to make all of this sit soft and snug on your head, padding beneath the headband distributes weight and pressure evenly.
The earcups are made for everyone too, piercings are no problem thanks to the carefully considered cup size. The cushions are plush and breathable, made from PU leather and memory foam, balancing pressure on your ear when you’re wearing them all day.
