At the heart of the BRAVIA Theatre Trio + SR is Sony innovative 360 Spatial Sound Mapping technology — the ultimate in home surround. 360 Spatial Sound Mapping creates phantom speakers around your room, reflecting sound off your ceiling and walls, using the sixteen physical speakers. The phantom speakers are positioned to mirror a cinema layout, creating a spacious surround field that captures the scale and immersion of the big screen. As it enables much wider coverage than conventional virtual surround sound systems, everyone can enjoy the same elite level of immersion, wherever they are in the room, whatever your screen size.
With the included rear speakers, your soundstage is even more expansive, with captivating surround from behind — perfect for a movie night. But don't be limited to thinking these are just rear speakers — the BRAVIA Theatre Rear 9 deliver powerful sound from above, without the need for in-ceiling speakers. A large 80mm up-firing speaker inside each unit sends sound to the ceiling, creating natural reflections from above and behind. By enriching the height layer in Sony 360 Spatial Sound Mapping, this deepens the sense of scale, drawing you further into the action on-screen.

Sony Voice Zoom 3 technology uses AI machine learning to recognise human voices and amplify or reduce their volume for enhanced clarity(6). This makes every plot twist and commentary crystal-clear, with no muffled lines. You can adjust voice volume according to what you're watching or your personal preferences.
Through seamless integration, a BRAVIA TV and the BRAVIA Theatre sound system can be controlled from a single remote(7). Your sound settings will automatically appear on the TV's Quick Settings menu, so you can quickly and easily control your Sound Field, volume, and more.

The front left and right speakers use a two-way design with a woofer and tweeter, delivering deep lows, crisp highs, and truly anchoring your home with powerful, balanced sound.
Up-firing speakers reflect sound off the ceiling for immersive overhead audio, whilst Sony 360 Spatial Sound Mapping creates phantom speakers for even more atmosphere.
The centre bar features a new two-way speaker that includes two woofers and a tweeter at its centre. With larger drivers engineered for greater clarity and presence, dialogue stands out, while rich sound fills your space with cinematic impact.
Sony unique X-Balanced Speaker Unit design specifically maximises the diaphragm area for punchy bass, and it also reduces driver excursion and maintains sound pressure to ensure less distortion.
Even the materials themselves are engineered for purer sound. An aluminium ring and copper cap are coupled with the lightweight driver cone to suppress harmonic distortion. Combined with the powerful magnet, you'll enjoy cleaner, natural-feeling sound across all frequencies.

UX
This bundle makes surround sound simple, offering an out-of-box experience for maximum enjoyment, with minimum effort.
The BRAVIA Connect app provides step-by-step guidance, covering everything from initial set-up, to calibration, and everyday control(2)(3)(4). You'll find a QR code that will take you straight to the app on the top insert of the packaging.
The BRAVIA Theatre Trio uses just one HDMI cable for the centre soundbar and wireless links to the front left and right speakers. The BRAVIA Theatre Sub 8 and BRAVIA Theatre Rear 9 can be paired via the app in seconds.
Everything is aesthetically and thoughtfully designed to fit your space. The side speakers look great free-standing or wall-mounted, the subwoofer can be positioned in two ways (front-facing or side-facing), and the rear speakers can be placed anywhere behind you or wall-mounted using the included brackets. These brackets enable horizontal angle adjustment, so you can even aim the speakers directly at your seat.

Stereo content is transformed into rich surround sound, as Sony innovative upmixer uses an expert algorithm to extract and redistribute individual audio objects all around you. While upmixing, AI Sound Separation processing detects human voices and makes them sound clearer, so you can feel every emotion in every lyric.
The Multi Stereo enhances your listening experience by playing the same sound from the front (L/R/Centre) and rear speakers. Ideal for entertaining, you and your guests will feel the perfectly synchronised sound reverberate with greater intensity.
Built-in support for Spotify Connect and Apple AirPlay means you can stream all your favourite tracks straight to the speakers.
Bluetooth makes it easy to enjoy music, podcasts, and more, directly from your smartphone, tablet, or laptop.

Sustainability & Accessibility
Not only designed to deliver a cinematic sound experience, this BRAVIA home entertainment system forms part of Sony Road To Zero initiative to reduce environmental impact throughout the lifecycle of Sony products.
Recycled cloth materials are used within fabric of the soundbar, speakers, and subwoofer.
The BRAVIA Theatre Trio’s packaging is made from recycled paper and paper materials, as well as that of the subwoofer and the rear speakers(8).
To help people, a raised square on the packaging will direct those with low vision to a QR code for the BRAVIA Connect app, which offers screen reader support — no need to memorise the layout of buttons or items on the screen. Tactile dots on the back panel of the soundbar also highlight the eARC HDMI terminal for connecting to your TV.
