A Little Marvel!
I’ve been wanting a Roberts Revival Petite for some time but was put off by reviews of the trailing wire aerial. This updated Petite 2 has a telescopic aerial which works well. There is no handle, as in larger Revival sets, but that is unimportant given its small size. The loudspeaker delivers a lovely warm tone for both speech and music. The printed instructions are pretty minimal but more details can be downloaded as a pdf file. At first, the battery doesn’t hold much charge, but this improves with more charging cycles. One the downside, the battery cannot be replaced and you need to charge from another device with a USB socket; Roberts should have supplied it with an adapter that plugs into a power socket for more flexibility.

All Great! (Just that screen)
I think this is a lovely little radio, really punchy audio, nice quality build, quality controls and harty battery life.
The only thing which really drives me crazy is the screen. The useable panel is so much smaller than it appears and makes a lot of the details really small.
It is kind of disappointing given the look of it. It certainly is a quality display, it just should have been a lot bigger to make some of the small details a little easier to see.
But apart from that I would still reommend it, the small size makes it really convenient to use.
If you have do not have a lot of space, this can really fit into those space and provide a good "bang for buck" in terms of what it can do for it's size.
(Maybe if one day Roberts makes a Petite 3 and that comes with a bigger display I might say that is the one to go for)

This is the best radio I have ever bought. It's compact and easily portable. The battery is lasting well, and I can check the charge on the display. It's really easy to tune. It has presets and an alarm. There is also a sleep facility to turn it off automatically after a choice of time periods. It's also really stable and pretty much impossible to knock over, unlike the other Roberts radios I have. The aerial works well in the upright position without being extended. The display is dimmable, but not too bright even on maximum, unlike my clock radio which can't be dimmed when it's turned on.

Not as good as the previous Revival Petite
We bought one to see if it was better at grabbing a signal - due to the telescopic aerial - than the original version.
Not only was it not better at picking up weak stations, but the sound quality was appreciably worse than the previous Revival Petite version - far more trebly. Also, given the colour scheme of the radio, the aerial really needs to be gold rather than chrome, which just stands out badly.
This new model feels like a step backwards.

Read, before you buy????
This radio is an excellent product - so why but 1*? Simple . . . . if you require the full operating manual, you have to 'apply', then you are expected to pay for the 'privilege'.
Ask yourself, have you ever purchased something new, where the manual is an 'extra'??????

We bought this as a birthday present for our daughter. We’re thinking of getting our own now as the sound is so good. It’s an absolutely brilliant portable radio/speaker, battery life is great as well. We still can’t get over how good it sounds for such a small speaker.
