So this is the first Dyson product I've ever bought, hence why I chose the cheapest model, and it's immediately obvious to me that they deserve their reputation for excellence. It's light, easy to carry and use, and powerful enough to satisfyingly vacuum anything I'm trying to vacuum. I have seen some reviews that criticise the battery life on max power mode, but I'm not sure how some people are taking so long to vacuum. Maybe they live in massive houses. But for my three storey, house, I can vacuum every carpeted floor and rug and not even worry about the battery. Oh, and it's incredibly simple to empty.

I bought this at the end of December because I have a small two bed cottage and wanted something quick at hand and easy storage.
I really like how easy it is to use and it’s not noisy. It’s light to use as well. Only one issue I found was that it seems to blow dirt, dust backwards. It’s almost like the flow of air blows things away from the floor cleaning head? I usually have to go over floors a couple of times to get everything up. Apart from that the ease of use and easy storage is perfect for me.

Great suction for hairs
It has great suction power and gets the dog and people hair out of carpets and rugs and sofas. Easily manouvered under furniture. There are many attachments but the holder only has space for 2, so it means you have to have another container for the extra bits. Annoying thing is that you have to keep pressing the on button to keep it going so for me it's not for long duration jobs but really handy for small quick cleans, and easy to bring upstairs or use for cleaning the car. Having bigger house I still need the larger corded vacuum cleaner but I knew that before buying this one.

Love my purchase
Very powerful, which was what i needed as we have a dog in the house that's constantly shedding. Recharges quickly, and the wall bracket is a brilliant addition to my purchase. When using it with out the long attachment it feels quite heavy, but there is a lot packed into that small body. Am keen to see how the filters last but I have looked them up online and they are reasonable and easy to get. Having no cord to manoeuvre around just the handiest thing ever.

Performing well
I bought my Dyson V8 recently too replace our V7 as the roller brush part wasn't rotating, I cleared any hair tangled up on the roller and striped it down to find the spindle was spinning but the roller wasn't which was annoying as I only bought the new motor roller brush head 2 months ago and my wife was insistent that I bought a new Vacuum, hence the V8. Which good the only difference to the V7 which had was that you get less assesories like the stairs roller brush part other wise we are pleased with our V8.

If I had known the amount of pointless email traffic this purchased would generate - including this request for a review - I might well have gone elsewhere. It's a vacuum cleaner. It does that.

Does the job
Does the job. Bought this for quick hoover around the kitchen in the evenings. It works well at this and has a handy mechanism to release the dirt. The battery life isn’t great, especially if you put it to max power. Once you have used max power you want to use it all the time. The worst thing about it is having to hold in the button as you vacuum - it gets tiring and I don’t understand why you can’t have an on/button like a hairdryer which would be much handier.
