Control settings are cumbersome & time consuming.
Exasperating controls. To boil a mug of water, you have to wait until the screen clears from cooking option, then it takes numerous taps of the controls. The 30s button doesn’t work until you have already selected a time. If you press slightly too hard, it runs away over time & takes endless taps to reduce back. Time selection for all modes including convection oven goes at a maximum of a minute at a time so if you want 60 mins you have to wait for it to go from 0 to 60 in single increments. Maximum time is 60 mins. Did the person designing this ever cook a casserole or bake banana bread? Also, it takes 2-3 times as long as my old 900w microwave to boil a mug of water. Lots of superfluous, confusing & useless reheat & healthy cooking features. Not a convenient cooking option at all. The oven structure & design is fine, it’s the operation that drags this model down.

Bad design
Wish I had never bought it. Difficult to read touch panel - needs to be illuminated. No way of just quickly keying in a time. A annoyingly have to confirm power level every time before then using up/down keys to increase/decrease in steps with much too fast movement between whole minutes.
Turntable not designed to allow use of a different plate than the one supplied.
Steams up inside despite being required distance from anything.
My 30 year old one being replaced had none of these deficiencies.
As Samsung tech customer thought it would be good. Bad thinking.

I bought this a few days ago & it is easy to operate. Cooks efficiently & easily wipes clean.

Overall a good machine
It’s not bad once you understand the operating procedure. Time input is presented in 2 ways. The quick 30 sec button. The other is in 20 second steps. If this button is held it zips up the time very quickly so this makes up for not having the “old style” 10min, 5min, 1min short cut buttons. The unit is fairly quiet. The usual hum is a lot lower in pitch than other machines I’ve used. The keypad input beeps can be disarmed & along with it the finish beeps. You can’t choice they are either on or off. Just remember to measure your space & allow for ventilation clearance around the machine including the back. There’s no bumper at the rear to keep it away from the wall at the recommended distance so you have to keep that in mind.

Flexible and feature packed
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is our 2nd - the first lasted 7 yrs every day use. Great at the main headliners of microwaving & defrosting, but also very flexible with the combi functions - we've always used it to do jacket potatoes, done in a fraction of the time taken in a conventional oven. Maybe not the newest, but highly recommended.

A Great Dual Microwave!
This 28 Litre Convection Microwave | MC28H5013AS is a great Dual microwave. I love the size of it, so much more space which is great for cooking or heating family meals.
Love the look of the microwave also, looks stylish and modern , easy to clean and I'm delighted I choose this microwave.

The first delivered item was faulty (legs issue). The issue was communicated to the Havey Norman. I had to arrive at the shop for further inspection. The item was replaced with a s similar new one. I started the use and, no issues were noted before this review.
