Very pleased
Bought this toaster mainly because it fits pitta breads, large slices of artisan loaves and thicker bakery products. It’s expensive but several cheaper ones we’ve tried did not do the job or broke down quickly. The bit more setting seemed like a gimmick but we’ve used it a lot. I didn’t know what the muffin/crumpet setting was but this has also been useful - it toasts one side more than the other - clever. The look and feel and even the sound of the product shouts quality.
Only one small negative - the cable is a little short - I would have liked an extra 20-30cms.
My suggested upgrade would be a warming rack - for croissants- perhaps as an optional accessory?

Looks great, terrible quality
We have a Sage kettle and coffee machine, which are both excellent. However we have had three of these toasters develop the same fault within the past five years. As other reviews also describe, they commonly develop a fault where the lever won't stay down so the bread pops up within seconds of being put into the machine.
One faulty appliance is understandable but we've now had three go wrong with the same fault, none lasting longer than 2 years. For such an expensive toaster, this is unforgivable. A shame because it looks great and our experience with other Sage products has been very good.

Style and Substance
I fast become a bit of a Sage super fan. Having originally been introduced to the brand by the styling and performance of a Sage glass kettle when my toaster died Sage was my first go to. Whilst it initially felt a little pricey the long slot toaster does give you the versatility of toasting bread of all different sizes. I have been impressed with the toast from frozen option and have used the “a bit longer button” on a number of occasions (so it’s not just a gimmick!). This toaster also has a crumpet option which is perfect for creating a golden top. The extended lift option is also really useful so all in all I’m really pleased with this purchase and it looks good too so I don’t mind leaving it out

Simply the Best
I have one of the original long slot toasters for a number of years, it's been absolutely brilliant, I love uncut artisan bread which comes in all shapes and sizes, this toaster is just perfect in every way, you set it a level you like the colour of your toast, if it needs another 20 seconds to add more colour, you just press the button and your toast comes out just perfect. I have had a number of toasters in the past including Dualit, but as you can gather, I would highly recommend this toaster over all other toasters.

Very short life span
We've had this toaster for about 2 years and for the past few months, the mechanism that keeps the bread down has stopped working properly so we have to keep pushing it back down. Won't be long until we have to replace it. For something so expensive it's disappointing that it only worked properly for 18 months which was outside the 1 year warranty. I'd advise against buying this product.

Depends if you want a crispy bottom
Great toaster used for most bread types, it cooks very well although I never needed to go past number two, can't imagine what would need to be set a level 5 unless you are doing cremations for your pet fish....
But I have an issue with the crumpet setting the diagram shows them face to face so you cook the top more, but having cooked crumpets from batter, all the recipes say to aim for a crispy bottom,
We've used it for bagels and having a crispy cut surface whilst soft chewy outer surfaces.. so glad we got one with this option
The quick peak feature and little bit more button are a great idea, especially whilst you get it set to your preferred level of crispiness

Not great
I purchased this toaster as the slots are big enough to take larger slices of bread unlike most toasters. I found the temperature controls very sensitive, bread was either not brown enough or starting to burn and made a slight buzzing noise when you first put lever down then after two weeks it completely
broke and tripped all the electric in the kitchen. Have returned for a refund. Customer service were quick to email me back and send a return label. The hunt for perfect toaster continues

Great toaster, with many helpful features!
This toaster is great! The high power toasts quickly, and I really appreciate being able to lift the toast without cancelling to see how it's doing. The 'a bit more' button is very helpful too. I've made regular use of the 'crumpet' setting and it produces great results! It's really nice to be able to see at a glance how long is left on the toasting process with the LED indicator lights.
The long slots are great too - I have a breadmaker at home, and often the loaves are quite tall, meaning each slice needs extra room. Being able to load the slices sideways and have them fully fit into the toaster is a big improvement compared to my old 'regular' slice-length toaster!
