Back to the drawing board I think...
This is no reflection on the supplier but the toaster, for me, was a disaster. Initially I put the bread in long side up and pressed the tab down to lower the bread and start the process. There was a sizable portion of the bread *above* the toaster that wasn't going to be affected. So ... rotated the bread 90 degrees and it wouldn't fit in the toaster without trimming the bread.
Brought it to my local recycling centre.

I got the Russell Hobbs toaster in white, the colour is beautiful and it matches my other appliances nicely. It has various toast settings, and they work really well, toasts the bread beautifully.
