Description
Up to 75% Quieter Technology
The Russell Hobbs 20461 Quiet Boil Kettle with quiet boil technology is so quiet, once you’ve used it you’ll want to shout about it. A special coating on the base plate works with a diffuser ring to break up the bubbles making them smaller. Smaller bubbles mean 75% less noise so you can enjoy a quieter cuppa, ideal if you are making drinks while people are sleeping or you don’t want to disturb the baby.
A Delicious Hot Drink in 45 Seconds
In addition to its quiet boil technology, it has a rapid boil feature that lets you boil a cup of water in just 45 seconds. It’s ideal if you need a hot drink fast or you’re just making one cup. The kettle has a perfect pour spout so all of the water goes into the cup with fewer splashes and spills.
1.7L Capacity
With a 1.7litre capacity jug, it’s big enough to make up to seven cups, making it a great choice for larger family homes. The Quiet Boil Kettle has a handy 360° base so it can be comfortably used by right and left-handed people. And to keep your work top clutter free, the base has integrated cord storage so it can be tidied away when it’s not in use.
Dual Water Windows
The Quiet Boil Kettle has a water window on both sides of the Kettle so you can check the water level quickly without having to open the lid and see how much is going in as you fill.
Perfect Pour
The Quiet Boil Kettle has a specially designed pour spout to ensure all of the water goes into the cup with fewer splashes and spills on your worktop.
When tested against other Russell Hobbs Kettles without quiet boil technology. Based on boiling 235ml.

Waste of Money as it is badly manufactured.
NOT EVEN WORTH ONE STAR RATING!! Bought this quite expensive kettle less than 2 years ago because it was quiet boil and yes it was. Also we trusted the Russell Hobbs brand name. Sadly in our experience we found this kettle to be a complete WASTE OF OUR MONEY and we are disappointed with the VERY POOR QUALITY of the kettle. 1: The black plastic 'ON SWITCH' BROKE OFF so the kettle is useless. 2: The clear plastic 'water-fill indicator window' LEAKED when filled past 2 cups of water. We wonder if this was this Built-In Obsolescence so we are forced to buy another kettle??? A big fail because we will never buy any Russell Hobbs product again. Maybe you should consider bringing your product manufacturing back to the U.K. so you can ensure the quality of your kettles.

Would be better if it didn't leak
A nice looking, quiet and reasonably fast kettle that is let down by poor quality and therefore poor value for money.
Bought the first one Dec '21 and it started leaking at the side water level window after 9 weeks. Returned for a replacement Feb '22 and it started leaking at exactly the same place after 3 weeks. And there are many, many people reporting the same leaks and it has been going on for years.
There is something seriously wrong with RH quality control.

Love this brand - Russell Hobbs
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ever since I was raised as a child, we have always stuck with Russell Hobbs as the compliances within the kitchen lasts long and it’s such a good kitchen ware so I would never change to a different brand. Not only do I like their design and brand but they are well known within the UK! Our Russell Hobbs factory is nearby as well also the hospitality industry use this brand a lot especially, the kettles which my main useful amenities are the kettles - we had two and they both lasted long so I bought one for my friend as a gift as it was their first time moving to the UK!

Best kettle especially with 3 year guarantee
This is the s cond of these kettles I have purchased. Our previous one stood up to heavy use for almost 3 years until the spring that opens the lid failed. Overall very pleased with the appearance, design and performance of this kettle and would definitely recommend it.
I had registered the old (similar) kettle but had lost my proof of purchase, otherwise it would have been covered by the excellent 3 year extended guarantee.
I will definitely buy this model again if I need another kettle as it represents great value for money and is high quality.
One tip we found was that using filtered water kept the limescale away so the quiet boiling didn’t deteriorate over time

Great for a while, but.....
We're now on our second one of these kettles. The first lasted about 3 years after which it started cutting out well before it boiled and had to retired. The filter in the spout was constantly falling off, even when it was new . The very flimsy tooggle switch used to turn it on cracked after a few months, so also kept falling off, and had to be patched up with a cable tie.
Time for a new kettle.. God knows why we bought the same model again. This one has lasted just over 2 years and is now leaking from the translucent side panel that shows the water level. The same problem has occurred with the toggle switch as did with the previous kettle - clearly a long-standing design fault. At least the filter hasn't dropped off yet.
Something else to consider: these kettles don't stay quiet for long. Even descaling doesn't seem to make a difference. Goodness knows why.
Russell Hobbs used to be a byword for quality kitchen appliances. Now it seems to be a badge pasted onto cheap imports.

Beautiful design.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the design on this kettle, its so sleek and elegenat! The black makes it pefect for every kitchen whilst the silver touches add a little sparkle. My favourtie thing about this kettle is the fact it has 2 fill windows one on each side of the kettle, which being left handed with a right handed partner is amazing for me and its the first time i've personally seen this feature on a kettle. The quite boil really is what you expect. Its not silent but a lot quiter than most standard kettles. I love the cup depths inside the kettle letting you know where to fill for a few cups of tea without having to look at the side. Its a really lovely kettle!

Breaking parts
I first bought this kettle about 2018 and was very pleased with it until the on/off switch broke. It was out of guarantee so I decided to buy another..........thinking i wouldn't be that unlucky twice! I bought the second one in 2020 and almost a year before the guarantee finished, the spring on the lid broke off so the lid would not open! Russell Hobbs did finally agree to replace it with model 20462 (the same but a different colour) but again, the spring on the lid has broken!! Why are the components such poor quality. I always felt that Russell Hobbs was a company to be relied upon but my recent experience is that a very good kettle has been let down by shoddy components. I will think twice before buying anything else from this company.

Stylish and quiet kettle
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Getting up early on a morning and making a brew, but not wanting to disturb the rest of the house, this kettle seemed like it would fit the bill, and it certainly achieves that. It's a very stylish looking kettle, and looks right at home in our kitchen. The neon blue light when the kettle is boiling that lights up, is a very nice touch as you can instantly see if it is active or not.
Now me being the geek I am, I actually used a noise meter app on my phone to try to measure the difference in ambient noise when using the old and new kettle, and there was a definite difference. Although not huge in terms of numbers, the discernable difference in the real world is very noticeable and is really understated. It also feels like it does boil faster than my old one, with the ability to boil even just one cup of water, which is a great boon these days.
Also inside the kettle there is a little bright red marker to indicate 1, 2 or 3 cups of water so no need to look at the side measure to see if you have enough water. The only downside I would say is the total amount of water that it can boil as it isn't quite the same volume as I had previously but not a major concern.
Overall, a kettle well worth having!
