No more leaks !
I bought this kettle because my previous Morphy Richards kettle (with a plastic inner and outer ), had developed a leak about 3" ( 6-7 cm ) from it's base. This new kettle has a metal core which should hopefully prevent leaks. The kettle pours better than my previous one and has a much brighter blue light in the illuminated switch. It boils a trite louder than my old kettle, but I'm fine with that. My only "complaint" is that the "viewing" slot is darker that my previous model ( which makes it harder to check the water level ), and there is only one, which is unhelpful if you are left handed.

Replacement Kettle
I bought this as a replacement for my old Morphy Richard’s kettle.
I like the compact base - it has to sit on a very small surface (although I preferred the slightly more rounded shape of the previous kettle), and I like the cream colour.
It is a good price and value for money.
However, as a left handed person, I agree when you say that the kettle will sit anywhere on top of the base, and the is useful. However, the water gauge is on the wrong side to be easily visible for a left handed user. In my previous kettle the water gauge was under the handle, and equally visible to left and and right handed users. I only mention this because of the point about sitting the kettle on the base being useful for the left handed user.

Modern upgrade
A very nice kettle. My old Morphy Richards was more Classic & went with my 4 slice toaster. I liked the more modern look of this & thought you could use less water for 1 cup. It does.
Also it's still in the cream with stainless steel so also matches my toaster. Very pleased with it. Also like it has the hidden heating element in the base.

Nice looking kettle
Not as quick boiling as I was expecting but it’s a lovely little kettle and for the price it’s decent the box came battered tho which was a bit disappointing
