It's good but elements could be improved
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Good weight, gets hot very quickly & has even heat distribution. Steam selector & quick blasts feature is ok, however continual use for steaming comes out at quite a high pressure so it rebounds off.
The cleaning function is effective, however I found the button placement for it very difficult to use. If you can hold the iron and press the button its fine but you need fairly long fingers for that. Having to use your other hand to press this button risks steam hitting your hand. The one big negative I found was a lack of any kind of grip or place to hold the cable when storing the iron.

Fantastic steam action!
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been enjoying using this iron for a few weeks now and although there are cheaper alternatives I do feel this one is worth the price. the iron itself is easy to use with simple functions to set the required heat and buttons for steam etc. the water tank is also good with no water spillages. This iron has a very useful long cord so it makes ironing much easier for me, I also really like the water jug this comes with. I iron everyday and this has been a god send, it glides effortlessly on clothing and bedding with a quick heat up time and loads of steam for quick and efficient ironing. I would recommend.

Good every day iron for regular use.
The iron looks similar to others apart from the quite pointy tip, the instructions on how to use the different functions and fill up with water etc were clear and simple and all the functions were easy to find and switch on and off.
The iron heated up quickly and made short work of some linen summer clothes, so a good test of its capabilities. I liked the pointy front of the iron as it did help to get into pleats and awkward corners etc. Also the button groove was good for shirts and cuffs etc. The Powersteam Ultra was comfortable to use and not too heavy which is good if you use the vertical steamer for curtains which I did!
As someone with 2 young children who can get distracted when ironing, the auto shut off feature is an excellent idea for safety and energy saving too. Overall a good solid iron for everyday use especially with the smooth ceramic plate, self clean function and useful long power cord.

Ironing made easy
When I pulled the iron out of the box I was worried it was too heavy for prolonged use, but it glides across clothes with such ease that I needn't have worried. With a stylish grey and black exterior and red trim detail, it looks contemporary. The handle is smooth, easy to grip, not too wide for small hands! The extra long cable means I don't need to use an extension cable which is ideal when I want to iron in front of the TV. There is a slider control on how much water or steam you use on your clothes which means you can sort out the stubborn creases easily. With my old irons the water spout would be visible and would often leak water everywhere when filling it up. With this iron it has a large water inlet and a cover door, it also holds more water, so I don't have to keep topping it up all the time. One of the best features is the button grooves on the iron plate, it just took all the hassle out of ironing shirts. Ironing will always be a chore, but it just got a whole lot easier and takes less time.

disaster
From the moment I plugged it in, it was a nightmare. There's no on/off switch – seriously? Do I have to yank it out of the wall every single time just to turn the wretched thing off? It's infuriatingly inconvenient and frankly, a safety hazard!
And don't even get me started on the temperature control. It's a complete mystery! There's a huge, unmarked disk for temperature, with absolutely no indication of what setting you're on or even which way to turn it. Is it hotter clockwise? Anti-clockwise? Who knows?! It's a ridiculous guessing game every time I try to iron, and it makes me furious that I have to risk damaging my clothes because this product offers zero precision.

Excellent Powerful Steam Iron
Was looking for an alternative to a bulky steam generator iron and I have to say I love this iron. Excellent overall performance. Powerful steam action, gets through the creases easily. Long cord so no need for an extension plug. Large water tank no re-filling whilst ironing. Auto shut off is a great feature. Very happy with my iron.

Meticulous Ironing Fetish
I am meticulous when it comes to how my shirts are ironed, in fact all my clothes. I have to say that my wife presses and irons all our clothes unbelievable.
You might find this very odd but I don't know why but I have to re-press any item that I am about wear, so I think that I could comment in all fairness regarding this Russell Hobbs Iron. This is an outstanding product very easy to use and glides across the fabric with ease, what is in-particular good is that there is an indent at the top end of the iron plate which slides between the buttons when ironing a shirt, therefore presenting a smooth even finish. The steam power is also better than other products I have used in the past....what more could I say.

Good Everyday Iron
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Russell Hobbs 3100w Powersteam Ultra Iron is a great little iron for everyday use. It has steam and non steam settings and is really easy to use. The dial relates to clothing labels so super easy to get the right settings. It’s not too heavy, so you do need to press into creases to get them out. The iron comes with a little water jug and the nozzle fits so well into the iron so you fill up without spilling. It has a flat bottom so stands up on tables and ironing boards, as with all irons it needs a level of safety. It is corded, and there are a lot of cordless contenders out there these days but the lead is quite long so no problems there!
I would recommend as a good everyday iron.
