Rubbish materials
I bought this item about 3 weeks ago and have been extremely lucky that the iron did not touch the plastic of the product until now. Unfortunately it has now done so and the result has been that the next time my son used the iron he got molten plastic on his shirt. Unfortunately he didn't tell me and I now have molten plastic on my jeans.
I can't see the point of having to wait until the iron has cooled to put it away.
I have a similar iron rack which is totally heat proof and cost half as much, but my new iron won't fit in to it.
This purchase has been a total waste of time and money.
I will be removing it from the wall and putting it in the bin which is a shame as I have other Brabanitia products which I am very happy with.

Good Product BUT with one problem!
Our Brabentia ironing board is approximately 1.560mm to the underside of the "hooks". This means that due to the length of the chrome legs on the holder, it made it impossible for either of us to place, or remove the iron from the holder, due to the height of the holder from the floor. In my case I was fortunate enough to be in a position to cut some 70mm of each leg and reform the ends to 90 degrees to allow insertion into the rear of the PVC holder, as the original longer legs did. This at least made it a little easier for us both lift out and subsequently relocate the iron as necessary. I fully realise that the holder has been made to allow all model boards to be used, however, all I can say is that on the continent folk must be a lot taller than the average person in England? I have marked the box, re" Would you recommend this product to a friend" with a yes, because the holder is well made and value for money. BUT please bear in mind my comments.

Excellent product, but will not fit my door?
The product is fine. However when I add my Brabatina ironing board and iron to the unit it will not fit my cellar door which is 79 inches/200cms tall. Please could you make the height and clearance height are exact.

Fitted to our utility wall to support Swirl Ironing Board and my steam iron. Put board on upside down to have room for iron and flex, no problem though. I can fold flex around holder, bit fiddly at plug end, but practice will make perfect. Good quality and colour. Looks smart as well being extremely neat and useful.
