Not an improvement on previous machines
I am very disappointed in the design. Presumably is was designed by a 6'4" man, with no thought for those who might be shorter. My daughter is 5'2" and I am 5'7" but neither of us can see the tiny screen that is situated at the back of the machine without tipping it towards us. Even if the machine is situated at the front of the worktop, with the attendant waste of space behind it, it is very difficult to read the screen. My previous machine SD-ZB2502 was excellent with the controls at the front and it was easy to see both the screen and the menu. I have bought Panasonic bread makers for years and this machine is not user friendly.
This machine also takes up more space on the worktop.

Not as good as my old Panasonic SD-257
This was bought to replace an SD 257. Unfortunately it is not as user friendly as the old machine.
It is bigger, it may do more but I really just want to make dough and wholemeal bread. In comparison to the old machine the screen is smaller, and the print is smaller and harder to read. The screen is on the top flat surface, other rather than tilted towards one as on the old machine. This means I have to tilt the new machine towards me to read it.
Most annoyingly the new machine continues to beep when finished, until you turn it off. The old machine would beep for a short period and then be quiet. This was much better for making bread to be ready in the morning.
This was the closest comparable appliance to my old machine.

Design needs a rethink
I had my previous Panasonic bread maker for 10 years. Unfortunately it failed at the baking process. My new Panasonic bread maker has all the features of my original one but the display has been redesigned. It is not easy to see the operation status on the control panel as the display window has been reduced in size to allow the program options to be viewed without referring to the manual. On a standard height work surface I have had to resort to standing on a step and using a torch to see the program display. I am 5' 7" so not a short person.
This is my only criticism of the current design. In all other respects the Panasonic is brilliant.

Not as good
This is my third Panasonic breadmaker; sadly number 2 was no longer baking properly but it was many years old and I was happy to replace it. However, I am really disappointed with this one. I have to climb on the kitchen stool to read the display as it is flat on the top rather than on a slope. My most frequently used programmes aren't even there any longer in the instruction book, that's a 70% wholemeal loaf, and French dough for making baguettes. I am going to have to hang on to the old one just to use for the latter, as it's still doing that very well. What a shame. I've always sung the praises of Panasonic bread machines. Sadly, not any longer.

Just as I had hoped
After reading lots of reviews and watching lots of videos, I decided that this one was for me. All automatic but with manual overrides. I have been making bread by hand for some time, but the loaves, all wholemeal, were quite heavy and time-consuming. You have to be not too far away from the process for about half a day! This is now magic, 15 minutes' preparation, switch on and leave. It produces a light fluffy loaf even though I use the same ingredients as when baking by hand. I made a couple of white loaves as well which were absolutely perfect. I will try the nut dispenser in the future which I'm sure that will be good too.

Perfectly cooked fresh bread!
This is my fourth Panasonic bread oven over the last 20 years and I can honestly say that I cannot live without it. We have made pizza dough, iced buns and jam along with freshly cooked bread for breakfast, everyday. The timer is so convenient, and waking up in the morning to the smell of fresh bread is heavenly. No UPF bread, and haven’t had to buy any since I bought my first bread maker. Thank you Panasonic for all the shared memories of the children helping to make delicious homemade goodies.

Problems with new model
This is my 3rd Panasonic breadmaker. I first bought one in the 90's. I have always been very pleased with them, until now. Firstly, I couldn't find stockists where I could physically see one. I bought directly from the Panasonic store but had the Grand choice of a couple of models in various colours. I find this one a backward step from my last one bought 11 years ago. That had a separate yeast dispenser. This doesn't. On reading through the recipe manual I see that the quantity of sugar, in all recipes, has more than doubled, from 2 teaspoons to 2 tablespoons! Nevertheless I followed the instructions given, only to be disappointed by the size and texture of the bread. After several attempts and variations, I had almost given up hope, until yesterday. I decided to ignore your up-to-date instructions and use the quantities I've been using for the last 30 years! Bingo! It worked. I am now getting a good size and texture again

Brilliant!
I bought it a couple of weeks ago and I make a loaf every other day (600g loaf). The first few I did on the rapid setting (2hrs) , perfect every time! When I decided to use the time delay setting I followed the recipe for the rapid loaf, not realising there is 1 and a quarter difference in the amount of yeast needed, and put in double that as is required for the rapid loaf...it was a very happy accident as the loaf reached the inside of the lid, it was so big that one slice can be cut in half and it will equal 2 regular shop bought slices. This makes the machine ideal for families although in my house there are only two of us. So now I do the 4 hour loaf setting and double up on the yeast every time. Also, the bread is delicious, u may be fighting over the crusts!
10/10 would recommend to everyone, and have!
