Great Tamper feature
I already have the Nespresso creatista plus and sage coffee grinder and now wanted a sage espresso coffee machine as I know they are reliable and good quality, I wavered between the bambino plus, duo temp and espresso with built in grinder, and finally decided on the barista express impress as the tamping feature looked very useful and I enjoyed using it, I also like the the manual option when I have fresh roasted beans and use the single wall filter baskets; either way with dual or single wall baskets give a lovely brewed coffee. The steam wand gives a nice textured creme, needs a little practice and patience and continued consistency is achieved. Latte art needs some working on but it's fun trying.

Great Coffee from a Good Machine (that could be great)
The machine is largely very good. The quality of coffee is consistent and a marked improvement on the Nespresso machine I had previously. For the most part it's easy to use and it looks great.
Two small issues I have with the machine: 1) when it's out of water, there's no signal other than the machine starting to shudder; I thought I had broken it. Maybe a notification light or sound would help clarify more water is needed.
2) the auto tamper is hit and miss. It often stops just below the optimal level and after the button is hit again to top it up, it massively overshoots. Emptying the surplus coffee is messy and a pain, even with The Razor that's supplied.

Just Amazing..
I bought this about a month ago and absolutely love it, I took out the coffee subscription and have had a couple of different ones. The machine is really easy to use, with the impress telling you with a green line that the puk is full. We only make double espresso and top it up with various steamed milk. Love it with oat and almond milk. The machine is really easy to clean and is a classic piece to stand on the worktop. Everyone comments on it, and loves it. If you are looking for a decent coffee machine that’s easy to use, keep clean and gives amazing coffee you won’t be disappointed with the SAGE EXPRESS IMPRESS.. Go on, you know you want one..

Simply the best bean to cup coffee machine I have ever used!
This bean to cup coffee machine is amazing from grinding beams to having a double espresso in less than a minute. With 25 different grind settings for your beans you’re sure to get the perfect extraction no matter what bean you’re using, the machine learns the auto correct amount of grinds for your tamper and single or double espresso filter. The tamper gives you excellent Tampa every time then simply take the portafilter on to the machine with a sturn twist to make the coffee extraction begin.
Excellent micro foam from the milk frother. 250ml of boiling water available on the side to make an Americano.

Fantastic Machine
I had been considering buying a fully automatic bean to cup machine but decided on the Sage Barista Express Impress as it takes away a lot of the guess work associated with dispensing and tamping the coffee but retains the 'barista' elements of pouring and steaming of the milk.
There are lots of videos on you tube showing how to operate the machine but I wasted a full bag of beans in getting the right grind settings for the right flow of coffee but now I am able to produce a good coffee although my attempts at latte art need some practice.
An expensive machine but well built and looks good in our kitchen.

Most convenient wayto make great coffee at home.
Initially the instructions seemed overwhelming, but it took no time to get used to them as the process is logical (previously I’d used a bean to cup machine that had a single button). The machine has made me very aware of how important the freshness of the beans are and its important to have a source where you know the roasted on date. It’s meant that I am buying my coffee supply two weeks at a time rather than 2 months, but the taste is worth it.
Unlikely my old machine, I can be sure that everything that goes into making the coffee is always clean, there are no complicated mechanisms to disassemble to clean it.

Consistent tamping and no mess
I bought the Impress as an upgrade from my Barista Express which developed a fault after 5 years. The auto tamping feature is very impressive and it avoids the spillage that occurred with my earlier machine, keeping the counter tidy. The process may sound complicated but it’s really easy and instinctive after the first go. So far, the shots have been perfect. The finish is improved with stainless steel one-piece construction, avoiding corrosion. Only gripes would be the disposable water filter is more wasteful than my basic Express which just needed a capsule and I would have liked a tamp for when I feel like “going manual”. But that doesn’t stop me giving it full marks. The main selling point for me remains the ability to go from switch-on to drinking great coffee in a couple of minutes! I’m “Impressed”!

What a Machine
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] First of all I'm a complete novice in making coffee's in this manner but if I can do it so can you.
There are so many videos online telling you step by step on how to get the perfect coffee. Me personally I found having a play around with the grind setting on the recommended "16" (middle grind) then on the lowest (didn't taste as good) and then on the highest, I found with my coffee beans they tasted much better on the number "20" grind setting.
The Barista express impress does make life easier with the tamping as it tells you when its at the perfect level so it takes the guess work out of it.
I managed to get a milk jug with the temp control at my local Curry's (nothing wrong with the one they provide) just so we get the same consistent results with the milk. Remember to clean the milk frother after every use aswell!
