An excellent set but time for a change?
As the title says, this is an excellent set. The building techniques are interesting and unique, with a wide range of pieces and useages which were new to me. As you would expect from a race car, there are many stickers which add to the detail. While I had no challenge with these, one miss-placed sticker could detract from a set. Is it time we changed to have an additional sticker sheet in these sets? It would be inexpensive, and add greatly to these sets where stickers add so much detail, and are almost a necessity to the display. This would be the greatest improvement for these sets. The set itself remains an excellent design, and worth the money for any enthusiast.

Amazing detail
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This set was amazing to build. There was Nice Part Usage, details I never could have expected and overall an amazing set. The new prices for the Speed Champions line is understandable, as the quality has hugely increased, showing that LEGO is really taking care of their design team. I highly recommend this set to any fan of F1 or cars in general.

So Disappointing
As a McLaren fan and a regular Lego builder, I could not be more disappointed with this set. The stickers are all torn and mis printed, and the way this set goes together is just poor, especially the Halo, which requires BENDING a piece out of shape. If you bend it wrong you don't get another try as it is impossible to bend back. The worst Lego set I've purchased and emblematic of Lego's current quality control issues. They've become lazy and too profit focused to make a decent set

Avoid buying for younger builders
Many parts to this build are very complicated and bits don’t fit well dewalt side panel don’t fit well is always falling off and the right and left small slopes in the build push panels off. I would avoid buying this until it is redesigned to be more builder friendly

It was fine
At the front the piece that connects the front tires is grey and it makes no sense to me why it’s not black like the rest of the piece’s it’s really just an eyesore LEGO could have made it black but for some reason they made it grey it just feels lazy

Wow what an improvement
Fantastic detail and printing on such a small scale! The wheels look even better in real life and the quality within some of the smaller details are fantastic
Great build with some fantastic little quirks to form the shape of something that simply shouldn’t be possible at such a scale!
