The RL417 is a traditional metal chassis sewing machine from Brother, designed for basic dressmaking, repairs and alterations.
The lightweight but sturdy sewing machine has an easy to use single dial stitch selector with a choice of 8 true stitches for both utility and decorative sewing - straight, zig zag, blind hem, darning/mending, shell tuck, scallop, double action and bridging stitches. Plus an automatic 4-step buttonholer.
It has a convenient top-loading bobbin mechanism which not only takes the hassle out of bobbin changing, but is smooth and quiet (even at full speed) and is far more reliable when sewing heavy and more extreme fabrics compared to similarly priced front loading bobbin machines.
This versatile Brother sewing machine has a reverse function for securing the ends of your seams and an easy flat bed / Free arm conversion for trouser hems and other difficult to reach areas. It also comes with a step-by-step instruction book and DVD.
