Total piece of junk
This product was a disappointment from the moment I opened the box. I literally cannot imagine how they could have made it any worse if they had tried. I’ve been using Brita pitchers for years and this was without a doubt the most disappointing product yet. The handle is uncomfortable as it has a sharp edge. The interior compartment does not fit into the unit properly and continuously slips down too far into the pitcher. Within two weeks of purchase the pitcher cracked because of this and is now useless. The lid does not allow for easy filling — you have to remove it which makes the slippage issue work. Just a terrible product altogether.

BRITA REPLACEMENT
This jug replaces a larger BRITA jug we bought years ago and had used daily for many years. The electronic countdown had stopped working so we thought it was time to replace it. This new jug is smaller but we think easier to fill, the water doesn’t lie in the jug too long and takes up less space on the kitchen top. It uses the same filters as the old one, which was useful as we had filters left over from the old jug. Our water, in our opinion (not that of Scottish Water) tastes of chlorine and taints the taste of tea/ coffee. This jug with the filters is excellent at taking that chlorine taste away. We can easily recommend this product.

Poor design and incompatible materials used
Purchased this a few weeks ago, black foreign body in clear plastic jug, and no filling hole in lid; meaning lid has to be removed to fill. Also due to differential expansion of clear jug and white plastic lid it is very difficult to remove the lid in order to refill the jug as the plstic expands more than the jug! As the lid fits so tight it has to be prized off with a knife under the edge - meaning ti could break at any time. Have subsequently read reviews others have posted about this item and them experience the same fault with the lid. Would like to think that Britta will provide free of charge replacement lid when required.

Essential kitchen item
We would not want to be without our Brita filters. We have had several models over many years and also had the filter in the last three of our fridge-freezers, including our latest new one. We find there is a definite improvement to the taste of the water
compared to direct tap water and our kettle never has any accumulation of limescale and so extending its life.
It is so easy to run the water through the filter for the usual tea and coffee and we also filter all water for cooking.
Refrigerated, filtered water is great for overnight bedside table.
We alway like to take filtered water in our car for making tea, coffee etc., on our camping stove, for picnics. No need to pay out to buy overpriced water from the shops.

Pure clear water!
After moving home and finding that the tap water was particularly hard in our new house we decided to buy a Brita water jug! We had been in our new house for a while and even after buying a new kettle we had to descale it every couple of months!
Reading reviews for Brita filter systems we opted for the water jug with filter, as soon as we started using it we noticed a massive difference in water smoothness!
After using it for a month now it’s definitely made a fantastic difference in the water softness and the kettle remains crystal clear!

Preferred the old version i had.
While the new jug is appealing to the eye it has some technical flaws compared to old one.
It’s easy to over fill the chamber at the top, not to the point of coming out the flap the water goes into but the levels are out horizontally so there’s always an issue where when overfilled it runs to the back where the handle is & runs into and down the handle, when you then go to put the jug into the fridge from the sink it spills drips all over the floor. Also the top chamber holds a lot less than our old XL, we got 2 full bottles out of that one this only fills 1 and a touch of the 2nd not even a quarter, so you have to refill and wait while the room temperature water comes out very, very, slowly.
Thinking of changing to a new brand altogether now.

Hard to fill
Bought this model because it was the only one stocked by the local shop. They had a big stack of them.
Didn’t realise at the time it does not have a filling hatch, you have to take off the whole lid. Not a problem you would think, but it does not line up easily and is hard to get it to fit and get a seal. Often water bypasses the filter element if lid not properly sealed and you try pouring before funnel has drained completely. After a couple of weeks use traces of limescale build up making it even harder to get the lid to fit properly.
