[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am extremely happy with my new LG washing machine. Ordering it was extremely easy, delivery was smooth and effortless as the delivery men installed and ensured everything was set up. The washing machine looks sleek, modern and stylish. It is so easy to use with many different settings and options. I love the AI setting where I can just throw all my clothes in and it chooses the correct time and setting. Large drum which minimises the amount of loads needed and clothes come out clean and also quite dry. Quiet once into the cycle and easy to open and shut the door. Very happy and perfect for my family’s needs

Shakes the whole house!
It washes the clothes ok but it vibrates like it's possessed when on the spin cycle and shakes the whole house with it. Contacted LG about this. They sent a 3rd party engineer and on his report said that our floor (concrete by the way) was transferring the vibrations. Hmm I wonder why my old Bosch didn't cause the floor to transfer the vibrations... Oh that's right, it's because the washing machine didn't vibrate! The engineer said to try rubber feet and we did; we bought the ridiculously expensive LG rubber feet and it made no difference. We even bought an anti-vibration rubber mat and it didn't make a difference either.

Fails after purchase with U5 fault code in weeks.
Less than 4 month old and developed a U5 fault code error, and have already waited a week for someone to come out to fix the machine only to have the engineers call the day before to cancel the visit and try to re-book a week later!!
Contacted LG to get a engineer out. LG very unhelpful, suggested I contacted the retailer I purchased the Washer Dryer from when I said that I wanted a replacement Machine as there is obviously a manufacturing issue with the machine as there are many posts on the internet covering the U5 code.
Clearly LG are selling a product with a design fault, which makes the machine not fit for purpose if it fails just months after purchase.
Believe me if I could have given less than one star I would have!

Lovely But read Instructions carefully
Lovely looking machine, Very quiet & great selection of washing choices! I'm still learning all it can do! Did a wash 59 min & was quite disappointed on how wet the clothest were, then read instructions again, I'd chosen a wash with a slower spin (duh) & hadn't seen the disguised button that allows you to spin at different speeds separately! Must put glasses on more often lol! Only other bug bear is I don't think installers checked the levels properly, as started shaking a bit, concrete floor luckily, I'll have to get son to see if he can resolve it. ALSO note measurements I saw online, when researching a new machine, did not include the bulge at the back, which caused major issues when delivered! Luckily my son was able to Saw into the adjoining cupboard, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to open my cupboard under the sink, right angles to where my old machine fitted in! It does state that this machine is the same size as smaller machines, my old one was a 7kg! But apart from All that I love it!!

Very quiet operaion, lots of washing options.
Very quiet operaion, lots of washing and drying options, ugly big black door.
Very pleased with this washer dryer after just three weeks use. It is very quiet in operation, and performs well for various washes and for drying. There are lots of washing program options BUT some of them last for hours. It seems very robust and is well made. Current 5 year guarantee on parts and labour is reassuring.
The only two things we don't like are =
1) That the last used washing program is not remembered at power off. You have to re-select the required program and options every time.
2) For a WHITE appliance - the 50cm diameter BLACK door glass on the front is far too BIG and ugly !

An brilliant machine
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall. a great machine that provides really good results. It looks great, with the lovely slate grey and tinted door, which makes any kitchen look that bit smarter.
Why the slimline design has never been thought of before, as it is a game changer for installation. I am a plumber/hearing engineer and have fitted and removed many machines to date. The one feature I would recommend is to have a fill and drain function without the need to put a short cycle on. It will make commission and testing quicker.
I will certainly be recommending these machines moving forward for its design, dimensions and fun

smells horrible
I wish anyone of these "reviewers" had warned others about the fact that this machine makes your clothes STINK of burnt rubber. And no, it doesn't go away after several uses. It smells so bad we thought it was broken. No conditioner, no perfume will save your clothes from this horrible rubber smell. Now the question is -- is every washer dryer like this or just the LG one? Should we return this and go on a quest of finding a new one or do they all stink?

Queit, quick and tiny
Our previous washing machine had lasted for 10 years so we were looking for one which would do at least as well, ideally better. The direct drive motor in this machine has a 10 year warranty and has less moving parts so it's much quieter and should in theory last longer. The depth is shallower than the old machine by about 10cm so the drum is slightly bigger in diameter to accommodate the same weight of clothes. This means it gets the same drying force with a lower RPM. The control system seems to do a good job of balancing the clothes even heavy items like towels and jeans so the spin cycle is remarkably smooth and queit.
