Soon went rusty
After less than 4 years the interior has a significant rusty area in one corner. When I contacted Panasonic support they claimed no one had reported rust but, just by chance, they have a list of reasons that could cause rust, without asking me any questions he said it was all my fault even though none of their list applied to us. Our last Panasonic microwave lasted 17 years and the previous Sharp unit lasted about as long. We don't use the device much, we know how to use it and we take care of our units (our previous inexpensive electric oven lasted over 30 years.)
Pansonic was always the first company we considered for our electrical purchases, so read what you like into how much Panasonic now care for their customers' problems.

update backwards
We bought this to replace our old Panasonic microwave which had done very good service for years, i stuck with the brand to my disappointment. buttons have been replaced with flat panel ok but it is now finished in a reflective material that if its not in a daylight position and defiantly nowhere near under cabinet lighting the reflection makes all the panel obscure, i even now have to wear my glasses to use it to try and see the print due to not very good contrast. Of late we have also found the auto sensor for cooking rice is virtually useless, and that's one of our main functions.
I can't recommend this product nor understand the product design choices for the finish. Style before function is not a good product.

Good set of features
Previouse model of 25 years went bang and bought this model as a replacement. Not disappointed as it has the same functions plus more and it does what it is supposed to do.
I noticed that the weight function for junior porridge doesn't go below 50gm ( I wanted 40gm) Also the book says you don't need to select a power setting before selecting a time, ( Defaulting to max power) but it seems you do have to select a power level each time. But I tend to use the 30sec button which does allow you cook straight away without selecting a power.The looks match the rest of the oven etc even though they are a different make.

Good microwave with a massive flaw!
Nice microwave with a good range of functions, but what idiot thought it was a good idea to have white writing on a light silver background with a mirror finish! (see pic's). Which makes the reading the function’s invisible from almost every angle.
I’ve had to print a vinyl sticky back label to make the microwave useable!
Listen up Panasonic, I realise you can’t change the control panel easily so why dont you add a printed sticky label of the control panel in every pack in case people like me need it, it would only cost you a fraction of a penny to produce, and makes the microwave much more user friendly.

Thrilled with our new Mircowave
Did a lot of research before deciding to get this model. Love its versatility eg. Have used Chaos defrost setting which works out the times for you when defrosting. Everything is so easy to operate. Did 2 potato jackets today in 8 mins (and five min in tin foil afterwards). Really good. Best microwave I have ever owned

Good but never last - interior lining flakes away
Panasonic use acrylic lining ( a spray paint ) which doesn't withstand moisture , flakes and rusts . Otherwise , brilliant microwaves . Samsung - commercial microwave models use a ceramic base and don't use a turntable - which is often where , beneath , rust develops . If Panasonic could get this one thing right , it would mean everything . Instead it often leads to perfectly good appliances adding to industrial waste within 18 to 36 months .

A good microwave
This unit was to replace the earlier version of this microwave which had served us well for many years. Having had a new kitchen we went for a black microwave. The new one has some extra features however removing the 1 second setting is not one. The older ones touch pad responded better. The new one works well and the power level settings is a good addition, as well as the cooking info inside the door. There is plenty of room for large dishes unlike many other brands of similar dimensions. Seeing the inside during cooking on the black version is not so clear. Overall a good microwave

A well made, reliable oven a capable performer.
My old microwave oven failed so I looked for a brand that I have found to be reliable given my experience of TVs from the brand. From a little research I found this model well recommended and it was in current production and had been for some years. Conclusion was that this should maintain the strong reliability of the brand. So far, its early days, the microwave oven has performed exceptionally. I particularly like the ability to select the power that can be applied this offering up to 1000W. I have also used the auto sensing feature which again worked faultlessly. The touch controls are many but the oven may be controlled simply by selecting the cooking time and pressing Start. It has many suggestions on the device and good starting points which you can adjust to your needs. The manual also contains many helpful hints tips and some cooking recipe examples. A good purchase available through many online and household stores.
