Rated 1 out of 5 by from Dissapointing I have owned this player for just a few weeks. The firmware is up to date. When playing several of my DVD's the player makes a loud droning noise, which is so loud that I've had to place the player on a thick piece of carpet in order to enjoy the DVD. Please note that this is a mechanical noise, possibly emanating from a defective disc drive. The whole machine vibrates! Secondly, I have had one DVD freeze up whilst playing, and I had to switch off the power and start again, and the same thing happened whilst playing an mpg file on a memory stick. I am not very happy with the situation, especially since my previous player, a Sony DVP-SR760H exhibited none of these problems, and cost about one third the price..!

Rated 2 out of 5 by from so many issues I was disappointed from the first day it arrived, I found out this unit was far cheaper than when I first selected this unit, 2nd it did not label as all but DVD2, BD-B, ok it plays all my DVD's fine with a bit of tinkering I can get full screen image even the ones that need a bit more adjustment, but the Blue Ray Disc's hell no adjustments on Aspect ratio of 2.35:1, how much of the screen is blacked in? The Aspect ratio of 1.85:1 is fantastic on Blue Ray Disc's, I have made multiple attempts to get full screen on the 2.35:1 Aspect Ratio, all past attempts failed but this time the unit has locked out, and what did I find to my amazement, I can't reset to factory settings. therefore have you an instruction for me to resolve my current dilemma?

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great being Region Free and Smart Blu-ray player I brought this a the beginning of October as other Sony Blu-ray player needed else where. I have a multi region DVD player but wonted to replace it with a Region Free Blu-ray player. The quality of picture is great, it was so easy to setup the addition of other apps is great. Pairs really well with Bravo TV . Was a good price and am so pleased with it, now I can play my DVD's and Blu-ray's knowing that the quality is very good and sound amazing. Great product.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Disappointed I was a little disappointed with this blu ray player,for a smart player it wasn't very good, you cant access the internet without connecting it directly to your phone/broadband line so that required an extra cable (not supplied) and i couldn't add apps as advertised at least not here in Ireland & the apps are available on the player are awful, it's does play the blu rays to a high quality but that's it, for a trusted household name its so basic, i wouldn't of spent the extra for a smart one if I'd of known how bad it was going to be. It does the job but didn't give me exactly what i wanted.

Very small footprint but an outstanding set of features packed inside, not sure I'll use all of them but it is nice to know they are there. For now the job of playing BlueRay Discs is done easily, quickly and to the highest quality.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good basic BluRay disc player Bought this to view my photos and home videos recorded on cd’s and DVD’s. It works fine with these and is fairly easy to operate. It plays BluRay discs well and the picture quality is good. The installed apps are limited and I found that it isn’t possible to add new apps of my own. If you want a good basic player then this is a good bet.
