Rated 5 out of 5 by from Best ANC I've been using my new Bose QuietComfort Ultra for 2 weeks now and this is my feedback so far. Noise cancellation ( ANC) is a lot better than Bose 700 and blocks most of the noises around you but Just a few high-pitched noises are not blocked like the sound of sirens, maybe it's by design. ( 9/10) The comfort they provide to my ears is amazing even though they are heavier than the old Bose I've but they are far far more comfortable in my ears and heads and so far no sweating issues because it's winter. App and connection are super fast and there is no intermittent cut-out and static noise. when you change any setting on the app or change devices.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Even Better I have used the Bose QuietComfort series on a daily basis since QC15 back in 2012. I've upgraded at every step, to QC25, QC35, QC45, and now the QC Ultra. Every new version has been better than the last. The noise cancellation has always been the best, but until now it's been at the expense of audio quality. The QC Ultra fixes that. And the noise cancellation is still at least as good as it ever was, blocking out the noise of busy offices, traffic, and neighbours. The QC Ultra also brings automatic on/off as you take them on and off, which saves on battery. The only part I don't like is that the volume control is no longer buttons, but a non-tactile slide motion. It works, but is not as good as a button.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Out of this world! I bought this as a gift to myself and was in awe of how amazing they sounded. With the Bose immersion mode you hear songs in a way where there is no distortion and each instrument is clearly audible. This mode also means you hear songs from a different perspective and maybe notice parts you may have never noticed before. Time has clearly been spent, as well as your hard earned cash if you choose them, in producing headphones that enable songs to be listened to as they were meant to be heard. You get what you pay for and the price in my opinion is justifiable.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Perfect over the ear headphones Superb set of headphones with the best noise cancellation that I have ever experienced. Very well designed and light on the head. Strong flexible case with a design that complements the headphones themselves. The colour is unique, which I really like, as means you can always tell they are yours!. Charging / recharging time is excellent, tho don't know yet how long this level will be maintained (owned them 3 months), tho I also have the in ear headphones and the charging rate has not declined at all since I bought them a year ago. Highly recommended,. particularly for plane journeys.

Rated 2 out of 5 by from Bad decisions almost ruined an amazing product I'm eager to give this feedback to both, other potential buyers as well as Bose, who I believe can greatly improve this product by just a few tweaks. I bought the Ultra Headphones as an update for my previous QC45, I've also used 700's for some time ago, borrowed them from a friend to compare to my QC's. So I can talk about how these compare to all other latest Bose Headphones. I was very excited about new immersive sound, better aptX codec, updated design and other features. Anticipation of all those improvements felt like a fair reason for increased price, but as a result the product lack a lot of important things. I will divide my feedback to a few categories: - Sound Quality. Overall it is great, comparable with the rest of top consumer-grade Bose earphones. However, Bose advertised support for aptX codec, which is, if fact, doesn't work with most phones, because QC Ultra support only aptX Adaptive version which needs to be also supported by your other device. aptX issue is a result of a bad communication about a product. Immersive mode is nice, but at the end of the day, I almost don't use it. - Comfort. While the general comfort is stunning, headphones are light, soft, greatly built, but there's a but. It is heavily compomised by a bad controls. I've described all of that below. - Durability seems good. The only thing I personally don't like is a coating of a black headphones, it collects fingerprints and skin oils as crazy. - Ease of use. This is a massive downside in my opinion because of a few things: Bose did not include a conversation mode from 700's which is insanely useful feature for a noise-cancelling headphones. I thought it would be available as a new "shortcut" action, but it is completely missing. Massive fail, I hope so much they will bring it back in an update. All controls are on one right earcup, would be much more usable to have at least one of them on the other cup, better for usability. Cost-cutting completely defeat usability, just one button for most controls, play/pause/next/previous by short presses, switching between modes by long press. Combine this with the absense of a conversation mode and as a result it is easier to just take them off completely every time you need to hear something. The last massive issue with Ultra's for me is that smooth sliding headband combined wit ha new case. New case for Ultra's have a dedicated concave place for each earcup. In order to put them back into case you need to push the adjustable headband into a fully retracted (closed) position. Otherwise they won't fit. And so every time you get them from the box, literally, you have to adjust them again by smooth sliding, because they don't have that clicky steps of different positions (like QC45 had) that you can rely on. I ended up marking my perfect fit with a black permanent marker on both sides of a headband. Disgusting thing which I'm getting reminded at least twice a day when I pack and unpack my headphones. Appearance, Noise Cancellation and Voice Pickup are just fine, everything is just as I expected. Conclusion. These could easily have beed the best Bose headphones so far, real "ultra" headphones, but they just don't because of a few very strange product decisions that Bose made. Some of which can be easily fixed with a firmware update, some of them can't.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good headphones but not for me The Bose QuietComfort Ultra headphones feel like a quality product straight out the box. The packaging feels premium without being over the top. They come in a rigid carry case to ensure they don’t damaged when your out and about. As the earpieces on the headphones fold this can be more compact than if they didn’t which is convenient. The sound quality on the headphones seems excellent. I’m no audiophile but sounds at crisp and clear, with good bass. The noise cancelling functions work very well. You can block out all other noise or enable some to come through so you are still aware of your surroundings. The battery life is excellent and would be plenty long enough for most journeys. The controls on the headphones take a bit of getting used to but work well once you get used to them. I find the headphones quite hot on my ears after a while and tend to prefer earbuds to this sort but that’s personal preference rather than a flaw with the product.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great Headphones...Highly Recommended I love these headphones. Comort, ANC and Sound qaulity are top notch. Especially if comfort and ANC are your priorities, go for it. However, I have 2 issues which I hope Bose can fix through software updates. One is lack of some ANC related features, which are considered basic nowadays in this price range, for example changing the level of ANC easily (without creating a new mode for every level), and the touch volume slider is horrible to use. It is too sensitive that sometimes when I wear the headphones on my neck, the volume decreases because of my jacket's collar. Also, the change in volume is inconsistent, sometimes it changes by 1 step, sometimes 5 steps. Please fix these issues, Bose.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Jaw dropping sound I have previously used Bose products so was already expecting a quality product. I was astounded by these; unbelievably great quality and comfort. The box, packaging and outer case felt high quality right from the start. the case is important - these are an investment piece and i will pride myself on keeping them safe and the case is as slim as would be manageable. The next thing is the comfort - I've never had headphones that don't either exert pressure on the top of my head, and/or my ears after a period of time, but these - I've worn them for a full day in the office and they were still comfy throughout. they are crafted so delicately, and i really believe these are the most comfortable I've ever worn. The sound quality - wow! i tested these with organ music (Rossini's Italian girl in Algiers) and was able to pick up organ instrumentation I've never heard before! Followed by Radiohead and The Smile albums - these hold up with incredible treble and bass - clarity is outstanding, I've never experienced such crispness! if you are an audiophile you need these in your life. The experience and immersion was incredible, and i may never listen to music on external speakers again. Noise-cancelling - i didn't get these specifically for this function, but i have to admit, it is very good - with no residual hiss or electronic noise which i notice on low quality NC headphones. I won't use this feature often, preferring the 'aware' setting, but can see how it is so valuable. Battery life - appears very good - i haven't tested it to the max yet, but i am comfortably getting over a full days use without running low. There is also a 2.5-3.5mm jack so it isn't the end of the world if you do run out of battery (although i believe the NC feature wouldn't work. if you can afford these, they are certainly worth the money
