A Quieter Way to Make Hot Drinks

The sleek and modern Buckingham Kettle has a quiet boil feature that makes it up to 75% quieter than a standard kettle. It’s perfect for early risers or night owls who don’t want to wake the family when they make a hot drink. With a 1.7 litre capacity jug, it’s big enough to make up to six cups and has a perfect pour spout to prevent boiled water from spilling or splashing onto hands or work surfaces. It's fast too, boiling one cup of water in just 45 seconds.

Quiet Boil

The Buckingham Kettle with quiet boil technology is so quiet, once you’ve used it you’ll want to shout about it. A special coating on the base plate works with a diffuser ring to break up the bubbles making them smaller. Smaller bubbles mean 75% less noise so you can enjoy a quieter cuppa, ideal if you are making drinks while people are sleeping or you don’t want to disturb the baby.

Rapid Boil Zone

The 3kw of power also includes a rapid boil feature which means you can boil 1 cup in 45 seconds. This also means it can help you be more energy efficient when only boiling a small amount, saving up to 70% of energy. A clever widget inside of the kettle clearly indicates 1, 2, or 3 cup volumes so you can boil just the amount of water you need. Ideal if you need a hot drink fast or you’re just making one cup.

1.7 L Capacity
With a 1.7 L capacity jug, it’s big enough to make up to seven cups, making it ideal for larger family homes. The Buckingham Kettle has a 360-degree base so it can be comfortably used by right and left-handed people. Also, to keep your worktop clutter free, the base has integrated cord storage so it can be tidied away when it’s not in use.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Buckingham Kettle This kettle is good quality and seems very sturdy on the base. Just love the quiet boil and the quickness it comes to the boil, also being able to boil one cup makes this kettle an energy saver. The dual water window is a plus as depending on your power point it can be put either way and you can still see the water level. It looks very stylish with the blue light round the base and won't look out of place on any kitchen worktop.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Love this brand - Russell Hobbs [This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Ever since I was raised as a child, we have always stuck with Russell Hobbs as the compliances within the kitchen lasts long and it’s such a good kitchen ware so I would never change to a different brand. Not only do I like their design and brand but they are well known within the UK! Our Russell Hobbs factory is nearby as well also the hospitality industry use this brand a lot especially, the kettles which my main useful amenities are the kettles - we had two and they both lasted long so I bought one for my friend as a gift as it was their first time moving to the UK!

Was really pleased as was looking for a quite boil kettle oh how wrong, it was excellent for roughly two months then the turbo kicked in and it started sounding like an aircraft I do descale on a regular basis then it goes back to quite for about two boils than back to turbo. It is a shame as it is a good looking kettle. Pours well from spout, filling with water good as lid opens. Be warned there is no such thing as a quite kettle.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Lovely product I really like this stylish kettle. It looks really compact although it holds the usual 1.7ltrs. The kettle is fixed with a suppressor which reduces the noise of the boiling water. It also has a measure inside showing fill marks for 1,2 and 3 cups. The kettle has a subtle blue light around the base which illuminates when it is switched on. This kettle looks good and has all the features you would want in a kettle.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Would be better if it didn't leak A nice looking, quiet and reasonably fast kettle that is let down by poor quality and therefore poor value for money. Bought the first one Dec '21 and it started leaking at the side water level window after 9 weeks. Returned for a replacement Feb '22 and it started leaking at exactly the same place after 3 weeks. And there are many, many people reporting the same leaks and it has been going on for years. There is something seriously wrong with RH quality control.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Great for a while, but..... We're now on our second one of these kettles. The first lasted about 3 years after which it started cutting out well before it boiled and had to retired. The filter in the spout was constantly falling off, even when it was new . The very flimsy tooggle switch used to turn it on cracked after a few months, so also kept falling off, and had to be patched up with a cable tie. Time for a new kettle.. God knows why we bought the same model again. This one has lasted just over 2 years and is now leaking from the translucent side panel that shows the water level. The same problem has occurred with the toggle switch as did with the previous kettle - clearly a long-standing design fault. At least the filter hasn't dropped off yet. Something else to consider: these kettles don't stay quiet for long. Even descaling doesn't seem to make a difference. Goodness knows why. Russell Hobbs used to be a byword for quality kitchen appliances. Now it seems to be a badge pasted onto cheap imports.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Previous models better Overall, this kettle offers plenty but fails to deliver compared to some previous models (This is my 4th RH Kettle). The kettle boils quickly as promised and is quiet, but only when no lime scale is present. The dual fill indicators and all round blue on-light are a must for a kettle with both left and right handed users so positives there too, however.... Most models available at the time of purchase were available in both brushed and polished versions, whereas the quiet boil model is only available in brushed - Why? I assume brushed is quieter. However, after 6 months, my unit is showing small areas of corrosion where the top of the spout joins the body. As others have mentioned, the kettle taints the water during the first few months of usage (longer than past models) and requires much more frequent cleaning in order to maintain any noticeable saving on noise. Removing the red plastic fill indicator helps remove the plastic taste and makes cleaning easier, but the internal shape of the vertical level indicators makes rinsing the kettle a messy affair as the water splashes out when swirling around to collect lime scale particles, which is frustrating (Yes you keep the lid closed whilst swirling and then time the opening as you tip, but never needed to in previous models). Previous models have had replacement filters available for a short period, but so far not for this model. If they are made available, stock up early as the seem to be available for only a short time after production ceases and they do not last as long as the rest of the kettle so replacements are always required. In summary, quick boiling and good for left/right handers but not quiet for long, no spare filters, no polished version, messy to rinse and needs cleaning often.
