Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great DIY alternative to the original Having already purchased the 3rd Gen Nest Thermostat to control my downstairs heating, I was saving up to purchase another one (+ installation) for the upstairs when the Nest E was finally released in the UK. Due to it not needing to be wired directly into the boiler, I was able to install it myself (in under 20 minutes!) and still get the same great features and usability! Would 100% recommend!

I found installation straightforward, and the product works perfectly. I am a shift worker and my old manual timer could not accommodate my shift pattern. Now I set the schedule once a week on the Nest app and my flat is warm when I wake up and when I get home from work

I plumped for this odel as I have a really simplistic boiler (Ideal Instinct 30) and a simple two wire thermostat (I removed the cover from the thermostat to confirm this before I ordered the Nest). I watched the installation videos on the Nest site which gave me the confidence to undertake the installation.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worthwhile improvement Because there were times when we were too hot, and times when we were not warm enough, we decided to replace our thermostat contolling our gas fired central heating (radiators and hot water pipes). The original nest plus electrician too install was too expensive, but I decided to go for the Nest E with its lower cost and the indication that a competent DIYer could self install. All went well.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great product Nice product, easy to install and use thanks to the Nest app. Not keen on the wired method, personally I don’t like to have a lot of thick white wires on show. My main annoyance is the smart home integration. Prior to buying this my home was set up on Amazon Echo, only this doesn’t work with it, or for that matter the Apple Home app. Really let the it down and had to buy a google home mini.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Terrific value and super easy to install Super easy to install & beautifully made. Doesn't feel cheap at all, instead it's very tactile and modern. Integrates very well with Google Assistant & the app is just brilliant - much better than some other 'smart home device' apps. The app guides you through installation interactively & seemingly covers every base - I had mine sorted in about 10-15 minutes. Savings immediately noticeable.

I ordered this product the thermostat e, through first utility energy supplier, Prior to ordering this the compatibility test was performed and it stated it was suitable for my heating system which is a Ariston Clas HE Evo, without a traditional room thermostat. (Combi boiler). I opted for a professional installer to do this but he stated he could not do it as it requires gemeration3 ?

I already have a Nest Outdoor Camera which works perfectly and consistently which is why I would look at Nest products for future purchases. The Thermostat E works constantly well and learns from your habits. It turns your heat on early to reach the desired temperature at the set time. A great product.
