Wish I had never bought it
Little did I know when I bought my Google Nest Mini there was a pre-existing issue with this model. Something that my research tells me Google has known about for at least a year prior to purchase. Approx every 48 hours the Google Nest Mini will disconnect from the wifi network and require completely setting up from new! Every 48 hours!! Utterly useless, we wish we had never bought it. We have tried every possible solution posted online and nothing. There are thousands of people experiencing this same issue and nothing is being done. Apparently this only affects the Nest Mini. We cannot wait to save enough money to buy an alternative smart speaker.

One of the worst things I’ve ever owned
When it works it is a great product which is great but the majority of the time it is disconnecting and you have to set it up all over again this can happen multiple times a day. But it gets even worse a few days ago it has now completely stopped working it will not hard reset the LED’: have stopped working it will not show up on the app and as far as I can tell through google help they do not have a solution so it is dead after no damage or maltreatment towards it. In conclusion, it is awful the majority of the time it is disconnecting and now it has completely stopped working and I have bought a new apple HomePod mini that has not arrived yet. Do not buy

Disappointing, not fit for purpose
For more than a year now I’ve painstakingly re-booted my Nest Mini, performed full resets and downloaded an updated Home app - all to no avail because the device works OK for a short time and before unlinking once more.It then recommends I set up the device again.I own two other Google home devices ( Not Nests ) which gave been giving me good service for years without needing any intervention from me. I use them daily.I have visited many Google help sites seeking assistance but have not been able to find the solution to my problem. Would anyone at Google care to contact me with a solution ? Or offer me my money back ?

Google nest is the best.
This has to be the best gadget ever. I got a present of a google nest at Xmas from my son and it's wonderful, it's the best. It's in my bedroom and for the first time in my life I can get any radio programme without raising my head off the pillow. My husband and I are both in our 70's, and this is luxury for us. So simple to use, it does what it says on the tin. We both love radio, music, current affairs and to be able to listen to RTE1, Lyric FM, BBC 4, BBC 3 and get international and national stations as well as any amount of music So
I bought one recently for my brother for his birthday and he is thoroughly delighted. He is a high tech guy and rates his google nest as the greatest also.

UNPLUGGED home mini
Hate it.I get more intelligence out of the assistant on my phone and tablet. Send lots of things to my phone; more so without asking. when I asked to send something to my phone it doesn't know what I'm talking about. Doesn't know the devices around it. Not an intuitive device to set up, nor are the Google Home control app menus. Oh and I'm in SCOTLAND not USA.Starts playing radio stations without asking, even when I say stop, IT DECIDES to start them again later. WHAT. CRAZY ! It's just too difficult to TRY get it to work. Very frustrating. Nope and it's out. I got it as a gift and it's back in its box. No time for it. Google assistant works better on phone.

Sound is pretty good
I bought this as I wanted to pair it with a Chromecast with Google TV so I could use my (speakerless) monitor in the office as an additional TV. The sound is absolutely fine for that and the speaker is maybe a little better than the Echo dots I have (???)My only problem is that I thought I read that Chromecast with Google TV can be paired with Nest and that isn’t as good as I expected. You have to manually add the speaker as a Bluetooth device rather than sync them in the home app. Bit disappointed as it occasionally disconnects and I sometimes have to delete and re-pair. For the price, and only occasional use, it’s fine.

Never stays connected
I can set up this Nest Mini on my network and it works fine (to start with). It has a nice full sound for its size, with some bass. This is a bit vague and mushy sounding but fine for casual listening and certainly an improvement from phone speakers. It is not a speaker for serious music listening though.The reason that this gets only one star is that it just does not stay connected. I've reset it and reinstalled it many times but after a few hours it always reports some error until I reset it and start again. [I also have a Home Max and a Nest Hub which keep connected better]

Keeps disconnecting and logging out
Google home Mini works perfectly.Google nest Mini does not. The nest Mini disconnects from our wi-fi routinely, and/or disconnects from my Google account, requiring it to be reset and reconfigured multiple times a week.The original Google home Mini requires no such measures. I’ve swapped both units around so that the nest Mini is right next to the router and the home Mini in the bedroom next to the repeater. This has not changed anything.I have reported this through the app, and it looks like this has been an issue for several people since the release of the nest series.
