So glad i made the decision to buy this model
My first machine was exchanged as it had a small chip in the black paintwork, this was processed very efficiently by SAGE, now getting used to fresh coffee, amazing how different is is...once you sort the grind level out and the volume it really doesn't take as long as you may think to make from this machine, now about milk consistency, this is probably more of a challenge than the coffee...Latte Art is a thing..

Great features & producing great coffee.
I bought the Barista Express instead of a bean grinder, which was to complement the Bambino Plus we had (which has now gone to a new home). We enjoyed the coffee from the Bambino Plus, but have found the Barista Express & beans add a little improvement to the coffee in the cup. Following the set up guides and fine tuning was fairly easy and using the machine is quite straight forward. We have performed a cleaning cycle with the tablet, which was quite easy also.
I feel that the thermometer on the milk jug could have been on the other side to allow it to be seen when holding the jug with left hand and operating the steam switch with the right hand. The float on both machines aren't particularly efficient so you have to be carefull not to let the waste reservoir get too full. Also a low water indicator would be a nice touch (it seems to be quite easy to run to empty).

Sage Barista Express
Purchased as an upgrade from previous Gaggia Baby, DeLonghi EC685 and Elleta Plus coffee machines. Solid, well made looks good and does everything required of it. Coffee already tastes better, but will take some time to get to grips with it properly and get the best out of it. If you want a simple to use espresso machine, look elsewhere, but if you're happy putting in the effort you will be rewarded.

Weak grinding activation switch will break - don’t buy
Deal breaker: Weak grinding activation switch will break - don’t buy. Instead buy a separate grinder such as the Dose Control Pro, and a separate coffee machine such as the Bambino Plus.
It’s a shame because this coffee machine is actually good but the grinder will stop working after 1 or 2 years max and it’s super complicated to change the switch + Sage doesn’t offer the switch in the spare parts.

Stylish and good mechanics
I have used this now for 2.5 months and am loving the machine. It took me a while to get to grips with the grind numbers and how fresh coffee beans degrade over time! Once I knew measurements of bean and liquid were equally important to taste, I made better cups of coffee. Still learning to texture milk but the practice is great and I get the perfect cuppa every day.
Cleaning the machine is so easy.

Excellent Coffee Machine
Have owned the Sage Heston Blumenthal equivalent model of this machine for many years and had excellent performance from it until it finally stopped working. Therefore, didn’t hesitate to buy this latest virtually identical Sage model. It really is a great machine and, being new, is much more efficient - heat the milk so much quicker than my old one. Very pleased indeed and thoroughly recommended.

Great machine
Bought mine a year ago last September and use it 4 or 5 times a day. Been brilliant. I took the filter out of the water tank and I use a brita jug. Use a pin to keep the steam wand clear and buy cleaning tablets and some coffee machine descaler. This is good machine and so worth looking after. I need 4 cups of delicious flat white to get going every morning and this machine is my best friend!

Looks great and coffee tastes great too!
I bought this a week ago and have gone through two bags of coffee already. Really enjoy making flat whites with this that anyone that comes within a few meters of the house gets a coffee made for them. Easy to use once you get the gind right but the instructions are very easy to follow. Next level coffee making for anyone who loves coffee (and hates spending €3.50 for a coffee in the shops!!)

Very capable little machine
I bought this a month ago after tasting the coffee my parents made with the same model. I had been saving up for a more expensive and shinier espresso machine but upon realising the coffee is more to do with the person making it than the unit itself I thought I’d save myself a few quid and get the express. It does require some patience and research to get the best results. Everything is done manually and I’d also recommend pulling the shots manually as I could never get the automatic single and double espresso settings to work satisfactorily regardless of bean, grind size and tamping. They always resulted in too long a shot. If you have the time and inclination, the coffee is excellent. If you don’t want to faff about with getting a perfect tamp etc I’d recommend the Impress model or Oracle as those will take care of the tricky bits for you. Or get this one and enjoy practicing and tinkering.

Almost like a professional coffee machine
I really like it. It's almost like a professional coffee machine. The temperature and pressure are good, and it's easy to clean. As long as you use freshly ground coffee, it's easy to dial in the settings and make great espresso.
If you try using grocery-bought beans, you might not be able to achieve the desired consistency easily or never.
It comes with all the necessary tools and gadgets.

Great waste of money
if you like costa type coffee get a Moka type coffee maker and save yourself hundreds of pounds. This machine is so time consuming and after 4 weeks and lots of bags of coffee I still can't get a good cup of coffee.
Well not even up to the standard of Moka!! ie Bialettii or similar . These are this hype and razzmataz but in the end I just want a nice cup of coffee.
VERY frustrated!!!

love mine
I love mine.....Am very happy with it.
The only slight downside, which I think is a problem with all machines,is that sometimes condensation pools underneath the water tank and leaks out............If you do not notice then you have water running under the machine.
Apart from that I couldn't be without mine......I use it everyday.........Just hope it lasts with that amount of use.

Hard to master
I have had it about a month. I still can’t get a consistently good espresso from it. With the same settings it’s different every time.
I got the dosing funnel free with the offer - you definitely need it, without it the coffee goes everywhere.
The Coffee puck gets stuck in the basket.
Worst of all - I can’t get through to customer service for help. Definitely wouldn’t buy another.

Excellent service
We owned this Sage product for seven years and it was excellent. As soon as we started to notice a leak we booked a service . The engineer was arranged by Sages superb customer service personal ( thank you Rossella) and we now have a Sage barrister that we can continue to use for the foreseeable future. Excellent product, fantastic coffee with the bonus of a fantastic company support

Great tasing coffee
This is a great machine for producing excellent coffee. The grind can be altered so that the size and amount gives the best flavour, newly roasted coffee makes such a difference. I'm just about getting to grips with producing the right consistency of milk so that I can produce latte art to impress! It's not cheap compared to some machines but if you like coffee then it's worth it.

100% worth it!
I've had the Barista Express for about a month and I am extremely happy with my choice. I spent days researching all types of coffee machines and finally decided the Sage Barista Express was the one most suited to me. It took a few failed attempts to get the grind, pressure, and puck right, but once you've got it, it creates the best coffee! Highly recommend this coffee machine.

A proper, robust, stylish coffee machine
I was lucky enough to be treated to this a month ago having lived on coffee pods for the last 10 years. What a joy! It took some real patience taking time to work out what the best settings are for the coffee beans I like, but it's paid off as I'm really enjoying the end result. Gorgeous coffee, frothy milk, and looks super stylish in my kitchen. Would definitely recommend.

SAGE top quality
It’s a superbly well made product which is easy to use, but the longer you have it the better it gets. The instructions are very intuitive and each process from setup to maintenance is well described. Sage customer support is superb, they put themselves out to provide great service. This machine saves you money, you get fabulous coffee cheaper than even the best coffee shop.

A joy to use!
My son, who has the same machine, persuaded me to buy one for myself.....I am so pleased I did, I love it!
I thought it was going to be quite difficult to master but, after the first attempt, it was super easy.
It makes a wonderful cup of coffee - so much so that my daily walk with friends that used to end at a coffee shop, now ends at my house -we are all saving a fortune!

Really solid machine
I've had this machine for 3-4 weeks now. It took me maybe 3 days watching videos and guides until I got it figured out, but it makes really good espresso. The grinder gives out roughly the same amount (within 0.5g) on the settings so I'm not measuring the exact 18g of coffee beans, I just let the machine do it. I've encountered no issues so far, really enjoying the coffee.

The only coffee machine that made me stop buying coffee daily
I bought this after seeing several reviews or sponsored products that this machine was the perfect blend of a) makes coffee good enough to replace daily trips to the coffee shop and b) easy enough for amateur coffee dummies to use. It lived up to the hype on both fronts and has literally HALVED my spend on coffee in the one month that I’ve had it. I bloody love this thing.

Really hard to get right
I bought the Sage Barista Express a couple of months ago, and despite trying with three different brands of bean, have been unable to get a good cup of coffee consistently. I am just about ready to give up. Went on a course with a nearby coffee shop so I understand the principles involved in getting the perfect cup, but haven’t been able to transfer them to my machine.

Great tasting coffee
I waited for ages to buy a “proper” coffee machine after using pod machines for years, the taste of pods comes nowhere near a decent cup of coffee. I like the fact when making a cappuccino it tastes just like a shop bought one, no boiled milk flavour just a smooth cup of coffee, the price is expensive but I’m hoping the Sage Barista Express will last me many years.

Lovely machine but build quality appears to be slipping
Our fourth machine. The first worked without issue for five years but became temperamental. The second ran without issue for three years but an electrical fault within the machine put paid to that. The third was returned to the supplier within a month due to an incredibly stiff dial but in fairness was promptly replaced. The current one has a tendency to run the grinder continuously and this too is likely to need to be returned under warranty.
The overall impression of the last two machines is one of lower build quality. The original machine ran well, without issue and was the reason for us opting for this model when seeking a replacement. We do intend to persevere for a number of reasons partly sentiment and partly practicality, it fits in the kitchen well and we have a good routine in churning out our morning coffees. However I do hope that machine 5, when we get there, is of better build quality than numbers 3 & 4.

Still getting used to it.
Nicely put together but not the easiest instruction to follow. Steam pressure is still proving an issue to figure out. Nice accessories but not really clear on why/ when should use some of them (eg the different size filters). It does use a lot of water, with the tray filling up pretty quickly and it is a little messy in terms of the coffee powder flying around.

Great first-time barista machine
Bought this machine 4 weeks ago, and waited before writing this, as a first-time amateur barista it is important to be patient. This machine, while an entry-level coffee machine, can be dialled in and you can make great coffee with ease. Very consistent and easy to use, controls and functions are all there to make amazing home-made espresso and other coffees.

Perfect machine
I bought this as the next step up from my basic espresso machine and it hasn't disappointed, I love it .Easy set up, all accessories provided. Plenty of useful videos on dialling in which I would recommend. I'm still perfecting my milk but that's me, not the machine. It's a joy to use every day, no more take away coffees for me when I can get better at home.

Lovely looking machine
After watching you tube I tried so many times to make the perfect cup, used the manual also using many settings, whether adjusting the amount, the grind texture etc and still haven’t got the coffee I want. Sad to say my cheaper Nespresso citiz machine gave the best coffee at the touch of a button. I’m still trying so hopefully it will come, all help welcome.

Good but not without fault
Really love this machine but it’s had a number of issues which is really frustrating given the price of the machine
Unfortunately had to wait about 3 1/2 weeks for a fix with no interim solution
Beside the above comment I do love the machine and investing into a decent coffee machine has Infact reduced my overall coffee spend so a worthwhile investment
